I took some pictures of camo'd Camaros at Nurburgring over the past couple of days. Wouldn't it be ashamed for GM to reveal their next Z28 (which I'm sure will be faster than the GT350) before Ford even ships these?

You would do better by selling the cars privately. If it is just sitting in the garage why not put it up for sale instead of waiting to trade it. Nothing lost but a little time.

I won't be trading anyway since I'm ordered with a dealer on the other side of the country. But if I were able to get a car local here in Arizona, there are tax benefits of trading here (you only pay sales tax on the difference between your trade value and new car price) which would negate private sale advantage.

Because by trading I save over $2300 in sales tax. Selling to a private owner would net about the same amount of money .

My nominee to run any and all government security is Ford Performance. They are even better at not leaking info than the D-Day invasion team. Not only don't we know what the problem is that is causing a delay in delivery, WE DON'T EVEN KNOW IF THERE IS A PROBLEM OR A DELAY! What fantastically tight lips. I say turn over any national security info needing complete secrecy to them and sleep soundly at night.;)

Reckon it's on Hiliary's server? Maybe I can request a personal favor from Trey Gowdy.

I have a similar problem. I have a truck and a camper that needs to get sold within 45 days of purchasing the GT350. Can be before or after, trade or private sale - doesn't matter. It just has to be within 45 days of the purchase in order to get sales tax credit. And on a ~$60,000 car, that's nearly $4,000 in sales tax.

Timing is kind of a big deal.

Fortunately I locked in my trade amount regardless of date delivered. Signed on the dotted line, but my dealer is only saying very generic replies now. Went from very detailed info to very generic info.

Something is obviously up. Maybe they are secretly adding 50 horsepower to stay ahead of the new super fast, super lightweight new camaro.
Ford is too far into production to make changes, It may be because they are waiting for Chevy(Z28) to get too far ahead. Once they get all their Certs it would be too costly and time to make changes and reapply for their reCerts again. IMO

You don’t want to know

Check with your county treasurer or whomever handles titles in your state. Last year, I discovered a little-known delayed-purchase provision in my state that allows an early trade-in where you give the dealer your trade-in now, but you can take delivery of the new car up to 6 months later. Best of all, the sales tax credit still applies. So, I left the dealership with a check for my current car (at a much higher value than it would be when the new car came in months later), minus $1,000 for the deposit on the new one.

I did speak with the dealer about a pre-trade on my boss302. He doesn't think the value will move in a 2 month period and I'm not putting any miles on her. I'll probably do a pre-trade in a couple weeks to save on taxes.

I've given some thought about selling my LS. I just don't want to have sellers regret as it's in primo condition.

Here's my theory, and why I'd started the other thread about VIN's and build dates a few weeks back.
I'd noticed that a lot of cars were scheduled for that 10/12 week...and if you look at the spread in VIN's it seemed way too many cars to build in a single week (assuming they build them sequentially based on the VIN).

I think they had tentatively just bucketed a whole bunch of cars into that week and are, just now, really sorting out production pace and so I think we'll see many of the earlier-VIN cars slated for 10/12 to stay in that week and cars with VIN's into the 400's or higher moving out to dates that may, finally now, be realistic.
