I'd be pretty pissed if I had a 2015 allocation. At this rate you might get it a week or two before a 2016 owner. Unless you plan keeping it for 30 years it being the first year isn't going to mean crap in terms of resale value.
The 2015s will always been more expensive just because of the VIN. How much more so is up for debate but that's what people who have ordered one paid for, not it arriving a few weeks to a month before the 2016s.

Agreed. For collectors, garage queens MY15s are ones to have. I believe these will retain its value and maybe even carry a premium for years to come.

For track cars, frequent drivers, MY16s and later will work just fine…and likely depreciate much like other limited production models before it.

I absolutely think that small tweaks will happen for MY17 vehicles. My plan was to wait for one. However, I started to become concerned that getting a '17 at MSRP could still be a challenge and I feared a $2-4k price increase. Thus, I jumped on a '16 allocation offered to me this past weekend. I don't want any 'early adapter regrets' but I decided to take the gamble to guarantee one of these makes it to my garage.
I agree. It's what a warranty is for. There may be one or two things for some percentage of people, but hopefully nothing major.

I don't know about anybody else, but it's starting to get a little depressing waiting for word. I really don't mind waiting for the car, but give me a reasonably accurate idea how long this wait is going to be.

Come on Ford, give us a sense!
Ford already said late fall.

I was told not to expect my car before October when I ordered it last may.
It seems like everyone ignored your post. You (your dealer) are probably right on the money.

My local dealer said (last spring) this is what Ford always does with every new vehicle release. They build some, they Quality Control check them. Then they go back and fix issues in those vehicles and make changes to whatever tooling/process/etc. needs to be adjusted to fix the issues before the vehicles are built. Then they build more vehicles, QC check them, go back and fix issues... repeat as necessary.

My dealer also said that Ford likes to build quite a few cars and then ship them all at once. That way the cars don't trickle out too slowly at first. More people get their cars all at once.

Ford already said late fall and I've posted that a few times. I'm surprised how it seems like everyone ignores that and then asks why the cars are delayed. As far as I can tell, there's no delay yet. Fall hasn't even begun, and late fall is months away.

I'm hoping they will be early, but if they arrive before Christmas they won't be late.

How many weeks have those 2015's been sitting in the holding lot ? What are the dealers saying?
Supposedly mine has been built since 7/29. My dealer states their Ford contact said "it's still at the plant" and "awaiting release for shipment".

My dealer said the same thing. Even provided an example of getting one of the first 50th anniversary cars produced at the same time as a later production car.

I still pester them every once in a while because I would at least like to know my VIN and build date, but every time I ask about that specifically I get zilch back. Makes me a little suspicious when most everyone else here is getting there's.

Interesting information that your 2015 has actually been assigned a ship date but certainly that is more than the rest of us have at this point?

My car was assembled on July 22nd along with many others and if the ship date for our cars is not until mid to late October that will mean our cars will have been sitting for the better part of 3 months and even longer when we factor in the transit time which can be up to 3 or 4 weeks depending on where our cars are heading?

That being the case it will be interesting to see if any of the 2015 cars will have run down batteries to the point that they have to be boosted? Three or four months is a long time for a car to sit based on todays electronic components drawing down the battery.

In any event I suggest that most if not all of us would rather have our cars arriving with in proper order instead of getting them a little earlier with the chance of potential issues down the road.

Once our cars arrive in the next month or so this will all be forgotten and in the mean time I am very happy to let Ford do what they have to do in order to make these cars right.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. Mine is a 2016 build and the 10/16 date is for production.

MP2 started yesterday. There were several GT350's built yesterday. One of them was G5520070. ;)
Okay, fair enough, you had me by a day, I knew they hadn't started as of the end of last week, that's good news, hopefully I'll see mine in November

It's a gamble because it is something that won't be realized for 30+ years. Who knows how far we'll be down the electric car route at that point. It's very likely we could see a pefomance improvement in later GT350 model years as well. The 2015 is a dealers ADM dream and that is all.

Maybe if they made them all in Wimbledon White with blue stripes or something exclusive to just 2015 it would hold more value. I'm really surprised Ford didn't do something special that only the 2015 had.

Harry I thought Ford told you your car was in transit and you were hoping for delivery soon? Did Ford misinform you? I felt awful for you reading this post.

Yes, misinformed by my dealership as they got their cars mixed up. The car that arrived (that was to be my car) was a Yelllow Mustang GT convertible instead of car #77.

Unfortunately things like this happen and will just have to remain patient.

At this point, maybe Ford is merely waiting for the North American Tour to finish before they release our "15s for shipment.

Not everyone here has a build date and vin. I know I don't. Still waiting patiently.
