Dangerously close to purchase

So I have been eying the 15 mustang for some time. I have never owned a mustang, actually my first car was a 1983 Mercury Capri does that count? :headbonk:

I have a 13 Fusion, love it, great car and really like the AWD (I am in the Northeast). But the mustang is looking so tempting. I have spoken with a few dealers and have tracked down a magnetic ecoboost premium with no other features. Close to what I want, and given that my fusion is not worth as much as I hoped, probably the best I could afford and keep payments right where they are now.

I filled out some credit applications and damn I am afraid if they come up a grand or so on the trade I might pull the trigger. Talk me out of it!!!

I guess the one thing giving me pause is the RWD. I can work from home on bad days, but there are still times when I need to get somewhere and the roads are crap. It is hilly around here (western CT), never had a RWD car.

I drive my RWD truck on bad snow days (salt white clashes with beautiful black on the Mustang). so, RWD is not the demon everyone likes to say it is. This coming from a guy who moved to Nebraska from San Diego.

I can promise you that it is different then AWD, and that is just Physics. but it is not impossible if you understand how wheels will roll over a low friction surface.
