I've noticed that some years the news is constantly shouting about heat, but this year it's cool and I haven't heard a peep.
but have you noticed your local weather station will show the map with the highest heat (even if it’s only 82*) as bright fire-engine red, and everything under it is oranges and yellows?

…drives me nuts sometimes 😂

July was awful in central CA, but August has been nice. Mind you, if its under 100 degrees, it's considered nice. It cools down to the upper 50s at night though, we're close enough to the bay where we still get that breeze, and it's almost never humid. It's honestly not a bad climate once you get used to 95 degrees in the summer being your new normal.

There was a lot of chatter on the news about how this was the hottest July ever, but i looked up August 2024 temps versus the past few years and it was a decent bit cooler. Nothing about that in the news...

yea, you guys have had it ruff this summer…I lived there from ‘04-12 and hated it. But we were in the Central Valley, nowhere near the coast and no cooling off at night 🤦‍♀️

on another note… North Texas has had its coolest summer in my recent memory 😎

Central Valley here as well.. i mean.. relatively close to the bay... not as far deep into the valley like Fresno. We get the breeze at night, which blows over the Delta and provides a cooling effect. It's freakin' wonderful.

I need to install a whole house fan, this is the perfect climate for it.

A couple weeks in July though, is like what you were referencing. It would be ok if PG&E didn't jack up the rates to over 40c/kwh

Stockton. From what my coworkers in Modesto and Tracy say, it doesn’t cool down at night as much over there unfortunately. I grew up in the north bay and that was the perfect climate, just couldn’t afford a house there

It's even worse than that around here. They started putting out excessive heat warnings when it's going to be in the upper 80s. Not even 90 degrees and now the heat is excessive. :computerrage:
