What do you think it'll take to repair this? Will it need a whole new panel?

If anyone has any experience and can let me know what they thibk it might cost that would be great.

I'm currently waiting on a quote from ford and I'll be taking it to a couple of others for quotes

Thanks

@Adam83 - ? (adam works for a Ford dealer bodyshop) and has an S550 too

dont look too bad in the pic

(any damage is bad - dont get me wrong)

I reckon the dent will pull out and the rest is a sanding and spraying job

I would guess around a grand for a decent job. They need to match the paint in

Would it be as much as that? The local body shop I use gave me a rough estimate of 350 to repair the corrosion on both wings in Magnetic. They're inexpensive certainly but damn good.

Well it’s definitely repairable so doesn’t need a new panel. Reckon anywhere between £800-£1500 to do it depending on where you live in the UK and what size Bodyshop you go to. Cheap price usually means a half arsed job. Few hours labour involved in getting it back to shape. Grabber Blue is a good colour match for us in the past so will only have to paint the 1/4 Panel with no blending into other panels required.

I guess it depends where you live and the degree of damage

Similar to damage I had when someone backed into mine in a car park. The idiot was driving a land rover with a spare wheel on the rear door:headbang:
Insurance job but the whole panel was replaced.

Thanks all. Does anyone know of any good body shop garages in the south Wales area?

That doesn't look like a new panel repair, I'll bow to others if it is. If it is then that becomes a huge job. I have a little experience of something similar... Whole new drivers side...

Ford bodyshop wanted cut this out and replace the whole rear quarter which would've meant rear window out and god knows what else.

Took it to another recommended bodyshop and they straightened it, skim-filled it and no-one would be any the wiser.

In my case it was van on a narrow country lane. It decided that it could fit through a non existent gap.

Gary - I assume that you had a few "words" with the van driver? :giggle:

I was dead "lucky" - the van driver who tried to overtake another car - when coming towards me in a country lane - merely clipped my Mustang mirror (I had already done a quick turn to the left onto the grass verge to avoid) - mind you he still cracked the mirror case!
