Tyres question

Guys,

I've a question for the Tyre experts. When I swapped my wheels from winter to summer, I noticed on the Pirelli tires that they don't have the "rotation" mark as all other tires I've owned on previous cars.

So, they don't have a "rotation" to take care ? We can put the tyres from one side to the other without a problem ?

They only have a mark that says "outside" / "inside" ... :shrug:

So far I have used two sets of 23mm by Hofmann from Germany, bought them through https://www.velocity-group.de/

Still awaiting my 20mm Eibachs as I think they will look a tad better than the 23's in the rear. For the front I'm staying with the 23mm.

Mind you anything smaller than 25mm requires modifications to either the wheel studs or the wheels themselves to fit properly.

Yeah I didnt read your answer... I bought 20 mm front and 23 mm rear. The back fit decent, had to peel half a mil from the stud, but the front is impossible withour cutting a lot from the stud. I'll try to replace the front with 23 mm also...

You put them the wrong way around. 23 goes in the front, 20 in the rear.

That is correct. I had my wheels modified (pockets between the bolt holes were enlarged, so they now will fit over the studs front and back even with only 20mm spacers. I wanted to keep my studs at original length because I only use spacers in teh winter when ai have the original wheels on.

How did you enlarge the pockets? Did you drill inside them 3 mm? If so, how safe is that?

Yes. Well not myself, I had it done by a specialist. And absolutely safe, there is plenty of material in the wheel, we studied that upfront of course. Mind you these are the 5x2 spokes. I haven't studied the multispoke wheels.

Does anybody knows if you can remove the ecoboost decklid logo and change it with just a pony logo? Or do you need to change the decklid to?

the question is if the EU faux gas cap + pony has the same pins (and the decklid the same holes) as the US pony. Ok you can glue the pony on the decklid but the risk is if a hole gets not covered by the pony.
But I can understand you: even if the decklid is not too expensive (you can find one for about 70 USD), the shipping from US is expensive..!

i need to order a lot of thinks, so shipping is not the problem, its just stoopid to buy one if its not necessary
