It's been almost three months now that I have my Mustang and I'm really sick to see those horrible fog-light drls every time I get out of the car. Damn Ford why you made those cool signature tribar led and give us those ugly drls?
We all should make the mod and then ask Ford for a refund! :amen:

However, after seeing this video posted about a completed tribar led mod, with a sequential amber turn like Diode Dynamics did, I decided that it's been time to do it!

INDEX
1. Preparation (below in this post)
2. Installation (part 1) (part 2)
3. Videos (night) (day and close-up)

WHAT'S THIS?
Our headlights lacks the signature tribar led DRLs since it appears to be illegal  in some euro countries. The MOD 'fix' this, adding three led bars inside the headlights into the place they are supposed to be ;). Also this mod had added an extra set of amber leds to have cool sequential turn lights in DRLs!

1. PREPARATION

I searched for a video tutorial and info, and started to dismantle my new car. I throw out of the garage my parents' Alfa Romeo 147, placed the Mustang in the center and took my giant working lights, jack stands and lift :D

I made a separate thread on how to remove front bumper and headlights, so it's easier to find if someone do a search.

>>> How-To: Remove front bumper and headlights (US and EU model) <<<

This is a 3-months Mustang now:

:eyebulge:

I made a huge package with lots of bubble wrap and protections, and sent it to Poland.. bye bye lights!! See you soon
(I sent him my taillights too, but this is another story...)

After sending to Poland, I took a free week from work and got a 5-day vacation to Berlin, just to free my mind while my car is in pieces.
Now caniggia sent back my lights some days ago, and I believe I will receive them in about two days.

I'll post here all the installation steps with wirings and connections, so you all can decide if it's worth it :clap2:

But's it's all for a good cause and I'm sure it's going to look fantastic when it's all done.

No I haven't decided what route to go yet.

Initially I wanted to get a US set and have those converted, but lately I am starting to like my clear lights better combined with the yellow so I might end up getting those done.

Love to see both your dedication to get the lights getting better and the willingness to have your cars partially disassembled. I'm more coward in these matters and prefer to wait and see if all works out fine.

If it's more expensive I'll do a new FULL swap and sell my original ones (once the MOD's are mounted) to either US drivers looking for an EU rear and front light to another Euro driver not willing to stay without his car for a couple of weeks and who could use mine for a new Polish MOD.

Good luck to us all doing these MOD integrations !!

The thought has crossed my mind more than once! But for now I'm not going to start with engine performance tuning, because I wanna enjoy my warranty period and I'm already spending a fortune on wheels and suspension. Put in my order for 20" staggered Niche Essen's and Michelin Pilot Super Sports yesterday and picking up my KW V3 coilovers next week :)

How much does Michelin SSP costs there? (I assume 255/40/19 )
No my summer wheels will be 20". I ordered 255/35/20 for the front at EUR 240 each and 295/30/20 for the rear at EUR 285 each. That's just the tires though, there's additional costs for mounting, balancing and extra tpms sensors.

Headlights installed, it was easy but I did a stupid mistake (wired resistor between positives instead of between positive and ground) so drl had a different behaviour :D
No big issue, I only have to rewire something but the time spent before doing a good work now comes handy: since all my installs are completely reversible, it will took me only 5 minutes to change it.

Tomorrow I'll do this fix and if I have time, I'll post pictures and instructions :)
