The light was from The US out of a crashed car.
I cut a slot in the bottom of the light inserted and glued in the DRL boards then plastic welded the bottom cutout plate back in so fully water tight and no removing of the front head light cover.

Sorry but i might be missing something here, wouldn't the US one already have the LED DRL in place?

This is at the bottom front of the light glue a fish plate in after you have araldited the DRL boards on to the tabs. Araldited a perspex fish plate back under the cut out then re glue the cutout piece back in and then plastic weld the edges back which completely seals the light. Clean up the plastic weld with a blade and clean with ABS cleaner.Once again this is underneath so you can not see the cut out And you do not have to bake the light to pull it apart.

I'd be a little concerned about the aiming and particularly the dipping of the US headlights.
Having said that, anyone that's willing to have a crack and do it themselves will always get two thumbs up in my book

Yes the US one does but this is all about the AU lights that doesn't. The exercise is to work out how to access the DRL plate that we get without the DRLs and insert the DRLS onto the plate and make them work. The main reason for the cutout is so as not to bake the light and remove the front which is a lot of work and a greater chance of damage or making the light look crappy.

Any one in melbourne in the next weak will see a DIB stang driving around with its light changing colour . Trying not to get caught by the cops. The DD lights are nuts they blink like a disco.

Could you make both the shark gills and the regular AU drl work at the same time?

Apologies for the thread derailment here but...
I assume you (Banditvox) mean the headlights are made from ABS plastic yes?
I'm just having a little bit of a think about other sealing methods for people who may choose the DIY route.
I could easily supply some serious mastic/putty free of charge, to anyone who wants to attempt "the Banditvox method"
The mastic I'm talking about is used to prevent the ingress of moisture into 22,000 volt underground cables ( I think it'll cope with the underside of a headlight).
This stuff sticks like the proverbial to a blanket when applied to PVC cables and the like.
Not sure how it would go with ABS plastic? But it could act as a secondary, or even primary method of re-sealing the headlights.
Just a thought.

I'm a Shopfitter by trade and work at lot with Perspex etc sign boxes etc these are what is called Ppe plastic so very easy to work with. Any one can do this at home to seal the light araldite also acts as a sealant but if you blue a plate in under neath and glue the piece that was cut out back in you can also use a black anti mould silicon. I will up load tomorrow a picture of the fish plate . Also what I meant by disco is a have the diode dynamic Drls and the have the little remote control my kids were playing with it found that it can scroll through different colours automatically . It's a bit silly but I will leave it on the bright white setting. Which is ok but could be brighter.

Burkey that glue would be easier for someone that doesn't have access to a plastic welding gun and again this is at the bottom of the light you can not see it

Have you spoken to him to see if he will be making a kit?
I have had a chat with him he can do almost anything you can ask for he is only using top quality parts, I get no commission or kick backs in any way just wanted to share with the community

Ok, what's the trick?
Got my reply from LoudZ, they are aware of the problem we face.
They are also a DD dealer already. Basically it's a case of them getting time to look at it, work out pricing etc. etc.
Very happy to have received a reply so promptly!
He is quick to reply because he seems to take his job very seriously, he has also had to fix up other peoples poor attempts at customising headlights

I'm in.

I guess really no need for a 'no' vote.

Good work MustangScooter.
Cheers man like i said only trying to share what i can where i can
