I took my first highway ride with the cruise on and every so often it will seem to slow down a bit harshly, I have adaptive but no one is in front of me and the dash isn't showing anything there. It will quickly kick back on to get up to speed but it seems a bit harsh as well. It can't visibility see the speed drop. Any thoughts on what could be causing it?

Road Signs and glare off the signs can throw false signals back to the Radar in the front. So the car thinks there is a car in front of it.

Try this: see if it happens on the same section of road every time. If it does, start paying attention to whatever is around you sign wise.

Also, if out of alignment it can trigger off of cars in adjacent lanes.
