I just put my order in for a 17 convertible GT with PP. I am planning:

C&L Racer intake
Bama X4/SF4 power flash
MBRP Street catback - black

I already found and purchased the intake. That's on its way. The tuner seems to be a very common choice... The exhaust, I have no idea. I want black tips, and this one seems to sound good and obviously the price is right.

Let me know what you think about the list!

Thanks!

Short and sweet, on the intake I don't know anyone with C&L, it'll be interesting to hear what you have to say about it. I and many others here have and love the PMAS intake. Lots of info on these on this forum with independent testing to back it up.
I'm not tuned but most people on here are really in love Lund Racing and the Nguage, I've heard good things about Livernois and I've seen them do great things with many other Fords even the trucks.
MBRP, I've not heard in person but read lots on these forums about drone and rasp. I researched A LOT on my catback and went Borla S type and am VERY happy with it. Borla, Corsa , Magnaflow (street) and ARH are the ones I've heard sound great with no drone and not crazy raspy. I would not pick a catback based on price with this car, though it's very subjective I think Borla nailed it, Corsa also sounds fantastic but it's a different flavor as is ARH, all are outstanding though.

Cool thanks for your input. I also noticed that not many people here have the C&L intake. it does have a bigger MAF housing, and therefore requires a tune. I see exhaust systems come up for sale fairly frequently around here, and there's one not far from here up for sale that's a Borla. I'm also curious about that. If I can buy it used, I don't mind trying different systems out. That way, if I don't love it, I can swap it out without losing my butt on the transaction. Maybe I'll just pick up the Borla.

I'm going to have tons of parts sitting in my garage before the car even gets here. My wife is going to kill me.

Congrats on the vert by the way. When you get it take some pics, when I first joined this thread I was asked to post some pics on the vert thread on here somewhere.

I definitely will!

photography is one of my hobbies, although with 2 kids and a third on the way, I don't have much time for it anymore. I'm excited for when my kids start playing sports and stuff and I get to get back into it!

I have the MBRP Street and it does not have drone (the race does). It has a good deep growl during normal acceleration, but it does get frappy/rasp(?) on WOT, but I enjoy it.

Here a a cold start video after I installed it: [ame]

This AM video it a good representation: [ame]

Did you verify the exhaust system (MBRP Street catback) you have in mind will fit a convertible? The convertibles have bracing that can interfere with many aftermarket exhausts. The bracing can be removed for an install but must be re-installed.

I did watch AM's video and yours. I think I like the sound, and I like the fact that it's 3 inch instead of 2.5.

You want a tune to be a great normal driving tune but also not have the car on the ragged edge of things... I don't know much about Bama other than watching stuff on AM. Lund Racing is so prevalent in the mustang world that many vendors on here offer their tunes.
Livernois is usually top notch but that is all mail order stuff for those.
When I get my GT350 intake manifold and kooks headers I'm going to get it custom dyno tuned. Usually extract a little more power and get it tuned just right with great drivability.

yeah I've been very careful to make sure that the exhausts I've been looking at are convertible compatible. The MBRP has an option for both.

This!
I forgot to add this but on the verts Borla 2.5" is all that will fit and Corsa and ARH still don't have systems with will fit verts if I'm not mistaken. I do think MBRP just recently brought one to market but BE VERY certain what you buy will fit!
