Okay so I decided to tackle the OPG, Crank Sprocket, Damper by myself. Did my last supercharger install myself usually this stuff is no problem but I'm trying to figure out the timing chain alignment now that I got the new Foundry oil pump gears and MMR sprocket installed.
I messed up on the last step when I took off the driver side cam chain. I marked the chains with white out on the top (cam Gear) and the bottom (Crank Sprocket) but when I removed the driver side I forgot to turn the crank to the 5 o'clock position and when I removed the chain the cam ratcheted back and now I'm trying to figure out how to get it all lined up again on the driver side.
I've read a couple different procedures and I think I have thoroughly confused myself at this point. Is there a fool proof way where I can just use the special link and line it up with the notch on the cam sprocket and the notch on the Crank sprocket?
Chilton's says something about installing the driver side chain and then rotating the crank 360 degrees then do the passenger side. Another procedure said to make sure the QR code on top of the cam was facing up but only one of the two cams would have the QR code showing, never both at the same time.
Sorry for the wall of text. Anyone done this that can give me some pointers. I'm so close to getting this finished.
Thanks!
