Coyote valve train chatter...

I have a strange valvetrain chatter on the drivers side while doing 40-60% trottle just after 3k and to 4k rpms no matter the gear. Its really anoying. At first I thought it was ping so I put back the stock tune and the noise persist, after that said to myself might be an exhaust clamp or hanger, well went to a muffler shop put the car on the lift and while revving the noise comes from the front of engine and to the top. This week Im taking the car to the dealer to get it checked.

Is the chatter there all the time? Even after running for a while and things are warm?

Yes..all the time same revs and all the gears. Very anoying.. before 3k and after 4k rpms goes away.

1st WOW what you talking about Willies? Self explanatory that posts were removed. 2nd Didn't blame you at all. 3rd I have turd that follows me around reports every post I do and this person buddy with Admin. Then the time I got 14 days of vacation for something I supposedly did. Funny part my computer was down for 4 weeks. When I got back on I was on 6 day of it for something that happened 7 days before that. Funny I wasn't online and did asked for proof nothing but crickets. If I post "HI" I'm sure its reported :headbonk:

Well, I'm back to say I think it's the engine..

I can start it and let it warm up for about 20 seconds or so and as I bring it up to about 1900 rpm in neutral, I can hear it. Gets better once the fast idle comes down a bit and in turn the oil has flowed around a bit too..

Perhaps it’s the piston slap a lot of these engines have?

That's kinda what I've narrowed it down to as well. It doesn't sound healthy, but everything I read says not to worry.. Makes me leary of any performance mods..

My car does it. Some days it’s louder than others. I won’t say it’s normal, but a lot of folks have this issue. Mine tends to do it more once it is warm.

There is nothing wrong being in 5th at 40 with 3:73's lol. In 25mph zones I'm in 4th around 1600? ish and it doesn't make noise.
