Interior was super easy to do ! The harness all have different numbers but look very simular in colors and wire gauge all connectors were the same as well. However i have said in this thread before that u can most likey just swap the under hood harness and reprogram all modules and ur good ? Someone else can try that. Remember tho each model has a different harness, performance pack, gt, v6, base vs premium thats why i never posted harness part numbers .
Considering the complexity of the harnesses, BCMs, IPC, and the can bus network its just better to try to get the harness and ECU from a similar speccd unit. You so not want to risk using a base setup on a premium car then find out your heated seats or cruise control etc stops working. Just easier to by pass that.

Did I read you correctly did you have to replace all the Harnesses including front to rear? Or just the under hood stuff? I know there will be differences, you figure if you wanted to do it clean and purchase harnesses (even at dealer prices) for piece of mind, would you need to do so. I know the engine and trans are a give in along with the PCM. IF you had both wiring diagrams it would be easy enough to repin the existing if there were items out of place.

Yes i replaced every inch of wiring except the headliner harness. Being the same spec it all looked exactly the same! But for piece of mind and being the first to do this i swapped it all.

I know right? Sure gets you thinking!! lol
Don't get me wrong, I like my Ecoboost, but I also like modding and I'm having second thoughts about modding this engine, knowing I can't try to push it past 400hp unless I get a built block. Getting a built block will set you back a couple of thousands more than getting a 5.0 engine!
I was going to swap, and keep the ecoboost as a backup.

the F150 engine is down on power, and is not forged. but still cheaper than a big turbo upgrade for the eco.. win/win?

It will cost you more in the long run trying to buy all the other parts from places like the stealership, ebay and parts stores. Save youre money and buy it out of a junk car from a place like midway mustang in iowa. So much easier to piece the puzzle when its all laying in front of you!

Can you provide a price list of all the components you needed to buy and their approximate cost? I was thinking of trading up to a GT at one point, even though the car is just barely 1 year old I"d be throwing out a ton of money (on what it's worth vs. what I owe plus loosing all the mods).

I was thinking of doing a coyote swap either once my EB is paid off in 4 years or once the 2.3L hits 150k~200k miles in about 7~8 years and its close to the end of it's service life (most of my cars easily run to 200k+).

That would be great to give us an idea of the overall cost of the project (sans labor which for most of us would be our own).

I bought it all from one car 10k , search back there is a parts list but no individual cost.

Ok good to know. That's not bad. So for about 10k + maybe some engine mods (like the FP Stage 3 power pack) I could in time turn my EB into a true fire breathing V8 muscle car for the track. Much cheaper than buying a whole new car and it would be a fun project!

Personally, I'd rather motor swap my EB to a 5.0 than trade up to a GT. The prices from Midway Mustang on complete assemblies are pretty reasonable - you'd be paying similar for a built 2.3L longblock.

They will only get cheaper as the S550 continues in production and more and more are floating around. That's my line of thinking, especially since all of the suspension / chassis and cosmetic mods translate since the chassis is the same.

Mostly the difference lies in the engine, gearbox, ecu and wiring harness. I'd need a radiator for a GT but that's not hard to find new or used. But it makes more sense to me to get my life out of the 2.3T first, then in 7~8 years do the swap and retire the car to a weekend toy / fun car as opposed to a daily driver like it is now.

No it won't be super pretty as the paint will be chipped / scratched, but if I keep it washed and waxed it will be decent looking enough and I won't be afraid to have fun with it either. Plus the worst of the paint marks is always the front end, could always just have the front bumper / hood repainted for about 1200 with factory paint to spruce it up by then. Then you can get into things like taking out the rear seats etc to lighten it up even more and all that fun stuff.

For a DD, you're probably spot on with the FRPP tune and 3.73 gears. You keep your warranty while being able to have a seriously quick and fun to drive car. It's an excellent tune for anyone wanting to keep their warranty and/or still making payments. Mine will be paid off next month and after that I don't care about the warranty.

I would do the FRPP tune, but I want go the FBO route and turbo upgrade (probably late 2018). Not because I need to, but because I want to and I can. I want my DD to make me go 'woah' every time I step on the gas. Right now I go 'need more power, lol'.

I've always kept a 5.0 swap as a long term plan for when I get bored with the 2.3T.

Since I'm at 6000 ft above sea level, it'll be eaiser to extract performance out of the 2.3T than an NA Coyote.

for 10k you could trade in your eb and get a gt without doing any work. unless you want to do all this work.

Not for a super charged V8. There was a Roush super charged coyote on there for 10.5k....tranny, drive shaft, ecu and harness. You'd be paying quite a bit more and if you already have a bunch of suspension / body mod's you're loosing thousands in those as well.

It depends, stock for stock, yes it makes sense to just trade up. But if you pop a 2.3T and it's not covered under warranty or in 7~9+ years when it's worn out at 150~200k miles, it would be far cheaper to do an swap and reuse the chassis assuming you took decent care of it and it's not all rusted to pieces.

I looked at trading in my EB at one point and dealer's won't give you a dime for any of your mods, they treat it as a stock car so your only adding value in private re-sale if you were to go that route.

But I think the FP Calibration, Inter Cooler and 3.73 (manual) or 3.55 (auto) is a really good daily driver combination that's got plenty of power to be fun and it's warranty safe so it's like a factory configuration / upgrade path.
