Hello everyone!
Looking for information about coyote blocks/heads.
I've heard the basics about "Frankenstein" builds and all that, but never looked into them too much. My current situation is I'm sitting on a Gen1 coyote swap that will eventually get upgraded to ~800hp with room for 1k (plenty for a swap car like mine) but I know the gen 1s struggle to be reliable past 700 (at 650 rn), plus adding my 150k mile junkyard motor that consumes oil and I know I need something within the next year or two.
Last year, I had my heads refreshed and the scoring on the cylinder head journals was not great. The heads were saved, the bores looked ok, but I did not want to look at the rod and crank journals since those are all b*llsh*t tty bolts anyway. Get $300 worth of ARP just to look at some possibly scored bearings! Not with my budget. Engines never had any knock anyway lol.
Expecting the worst, I wanted to have a Gen2 block available to me if I ended up needing a block. Now they only sell the gen 3 blocks! Yall think the crankshaft and heads of a gen 1 would go on no issue, assuming correct gaskets and all? Forged pistons matching the block would be obvious.
Thanks for any info,
Blake
