So I bought a used 2017 ecoboost vert and I don’t think the previous owner ever used the tonneau covers. However, as soon as I picked them up out of the trunk the foam disentigrated. Has anyone had this same issue and found a suitable replacement self stick foam? I’m not sure if I’ll use them but if I do I’d prefer to have the foam so it doesn’t scrape against the roof fabric.

I believe that in 21or 22 they stopped using them because of how they were wearing and damaging the fabric on the top.please let me know if any one 22 or newer received them new from factory ? Best of luck to you Joe

Find your local foam shop...they can make you new pieces then contact cement them to the cleaned cover.

I use my covers all the time they really cut wind noise on the high way, but I also use windblocker

Try a decorating store that sells fabrics, craft supplies, etc.??? They use foam to make pillows and stuffed items.

Just my guess.

I’m aware of where to get foam, I’m looking to see if anyone has already done such a fix and has recommendations based on experience.

I haven’t had that issue with mine, yet, but the contact cement suggestion is probably your best bet. My experience to get good results is to mask off the area you want to apply on the cover so you get crisp edges on the glue. And when you think you’ve let the contact cement tack up enough, leave it another 10 minutes. As regards the foam, I would go with closed cell rather than the open cell Ford used.

I had to get some OEM covers off of ebay. My 2016 didn't come with them. I got it used, so no huge surprise there. Lots of non OEM covers don't have foam on them at all.
