COTUS is a sham!!!

My car must be on the same train as the OP. My delivery jumped from the 12th to the 14th as well. Crazy part is I ordered 12/2 and it was built by 12/16. Not trying to upset the people who have had to wait but I read on here somewhere there are different levels of priority the dealer can assign to your order. Might be worth checking into if you've been waiting a while already. But once it's shipped you're just at the mercy of the shipping company.

Thanks for your comments regarding the wait I've had.

My dealer makes its money from the sale of F series trucks; Mustangs are not too important so the allocation may be an issue.

I'm going there Saturday and complain a bit. They've been good on other cars I've ordered in the past but yes I too think I should at least have a VIN by now.

There is a Cadillac dealer next door. If I don't feel there is some progress on the ordered Mustang I think I'll leave my car parked at the Ford store and walk next door to look at the Cadillac ATS coupe. It is not really what I want but they've got those on the lot and they can be bought with discounts quickly.

What have you paid for? At most, a deposit to hold your order? When you do eventually pay - believe me - you'll get what you pay for. As for developing something to perfection before you roll it out... that would be called unrealistic expectations.

Another point for the record: I told dealership what I wanted in July. Dealer placed order August 27.

Today, EDT and number of days has disappeared from COTUS!! This is almost amusing, except the $40K I'm sitting on....LOL

Could mean it is in and on its way to the dealership to be delivered. Could just be Cotus being all Cotus.

I recommend calling your dealer, badass03ragtop, because I'm showing that you no longer have any need for COTUS.

Also, I would like to say that COTUS was never actually announced as a tool for our customers. We were not supposed to share it as a resource because it was only a pilot program. It just has never been taken down and thus the link has continued to be shared by many of our Ford Family members.

Ford service has also stated many, many times that COTUS is still in the experimental phase. I would term it more along the lines of a UAT effort.

I am tired of waiting but don't object to the "COTUS" site.

I am going to stick it out and wait; don't really want anything else at another brand or dealer.

Waiting is difficult, ranchero; I'm glad to see that it's not a deal breaker. Please shoot over a PM with your dealer code and order number; I'll see what information I can discover.

When I ordered my car May 20th my dealer told me don't expect it until December. My car was actually due to be delivered in November until Western NY received 6' of snow. I picked it up the first week of December and never looked back. The car is awesome but my dealer was truthful to me. Cotus works very well and it is a great feature we all used to make our much longer waits livable.
