Mine has been listed as "In Production" since last Wednesday and COTUS isn't showing a window sticker yet. I plugged my VIN into the website below and it generated one for me. Apparently my blend date is tomorrow :)

Produced in a Day?????

Yesterday was the blend date for my car and when I saw that cotus was up I took a look. Sure enough, it showed that the car was in production. I figured a couple days.

Today when I looked it said awaiting shipment. I am eager to get it but it seems fast to do this all in one day. Is this usual?

I looked up a few cars on the lot at my dealer to get an idea of the shipping times and they all showed the same date for completing the production and awaiting shipment steps. Admittedly I have a very small sample size but it seems like they get them shipped out pretty quickly after they roll off the line.

Thanks but my surprise was that the car was produced in one day. That seemed strange given what I have read in this forum. Who know, maybe they are getting faster:)

Ahh, yes, I misunderstood you. This is a little old but I imagine it gives a good representation of the current process... it claims ~6.5 hrs start to finish.

http://www.motortrend.com/cars/ford/mustang/2006/2006-ford-mustang/

Assembly starts at 8:50 p.m. with a freshly painted, empty metal shell hanging in an overhead cradle on the tilt line at a 45-degree angle. Twenty minutes later, the car moves onto stands on line two, a conveyer belt, and is ready for assembly.
By 10:00, the instrument panel is ready to be put together on the preinstallation line.
The engine is completed on the engine-production line between 10:20 and 11:00.
At 11.45, the instrument-panel assembly is united with the body…
… and at 12:20, the engine is placed into the engine bay.
Wheels are added to the car at 1:50 in the morning…
… and at 2:00 robots install the front and rear glass.
The interior nears completion as the seats are installed by 2:10.
Doors, initially removed for interior work, are reattached at 2:35.
The car nears the end of the final trim assembly line by 3:00, where the remaining trim items are installed.
Final inspection of the completed Mustang takes only five minutes between 3:10 and 3:15.
The fully assembled vehicle comes to the end of the line at 3:20, when the wipers, lights, and horn are checked. The brand-new Mustang is then fired up for the first time and driven away to a holding lot.

If they go through final assembly on the same line then I would expect the overall time to be the same. Otherwise any time a 350 was being assembled the whole line would slow down.

That makes sense to me. I have seen reference to a "mod shop" step. I don't know if that is for stripes only or other things. I don't have stripes but I did order the optional black roof. If that is an option that any other mustang could get, then I think you are right.

Thanks this is very informative. I wonder if the GT350 has any variation, I would expect that it would.
Don't feel worried. Ones showing the exact same on Cotus.

Mine was started and completed 9/19/16. Showing awaiting shipment currently. 11 days to Delivery. My dealership is a 4-5hour drive from Flat Rock, MI
