I'm guessing this is only an issue when changing to much larger tire diameter than OEM.
Or smaller. I swapped my 275/40R19 PP rears to 285/35R19 when I went to a square setup. That's 2.8% smaller in circumference.

I'm thinking that the '15 and up handle it differently. Since I know for a fact that with the OEM 3.15 gears brand new - my speedo was accurate (GPS verified) and I swapped to 3.55 gears with no other changes - it stayed accurate. I'm betting the ABS / wheel sensors correct the ECU / Speedometer reading without any additional data if the variance isn't huge.

In my case - 235/55/17 is 27.2" I switched to 235/50/18 which is 27.3"

No luck

Everyone seems to be talking about going 40-80 and the speed being off my issue is I can't even start going.. listen to the video and the ticking. I have cleared the P160A but as soon as a I drive to speedometer freaks out and then I get ABS and Traction. I have no errors.. all my speed sensors have been replaced the video I've linked is my car after installing 3.31 from 3.15 clearing all DTC and the P160A :frusty::frusty:

It's looking more and more like we don't know enough to properly account for gear changes. Have you changed the gear ratio setting in your BCM? When you change it back, does the drivability issue go away?

Brazenbuck can you weigh in on this also with your experience swapping gears?

My car's a 16 GT with the Performance Pack

I went from the stock 275's to 305/35/19 on a 19"x11" rim. Made no changes BCM and had no codes/CELs

I swapped out the stock 3.73 pumpkin and axles to a 3.31 pumpkin from another 16 car and FRPP axles. Regardless of how I try to change axle ratio in the BCM (Forscan or Whipple Flare), I get a U0422 code that can't be cleared unless I change the axle ratio back to 3.73. I'm also having drivability issues that came about the same time as the pumpkin/axle swap. I got gas that same day, so I'm trying to rule out the gas or pumpkin swap as the source of my issue.

Drivability issue = car falls on it's face under any load. I don't get a CEL or code, but the car falls on it's face as if it's in some limp home mode. If I BABY the throttle, some times it gets past this issue and pulls again. The more load on the car the worse the symptom, meaning 1st and 2nd on level ground you'll barely notice it. 3rd - 5th it's increasingly noticeable. It's also more noticeable on any incline.

No once i did a the swap ( my 3.15 was DESTROYED Full rebuild needed) so we installed the 3.31 complete housing etc with stock value it still does it.

I just went out to my car 5 min ago and took the following screen shots.

Is there anything I'm doing wrong? the PCM has been refreshed and the i don't get a P160A error

Are you getting a U0422? I am after my swap/BCM edits/relearn, and while I'm having problems there nothing like your video.

If I had to guess, any difference is due to the fact that you guys are going opposite directions with your gear swap. One of you is going taller one shorter.

I cant click the thread... But i also have 750 HP mustang.. i really don't want ABS off.. Ive already almost been in an accident ( Las Vegas drivers are amazing..:headbonk:)
Oh no I get it, just wanting to know if it makes a difference. Process of elimination - maybe we need to be looking at the ABS as-built.

Plus one's a manual car and the other's an automatic. That's one less computer I have to deal with.

I'd go back and make sure nothing was damaged with the ABS sensors when you did the axle / rear swap. Sounds like it's in limp mode. Try pulling the fuse or disconnecting an ABS sensor and see what happens - since apparently it does it regardless of what value is in the BCM - if I'm reading your posts correctly.
