You'll soon learn that everyone (well not everyone the majority are helpful!) on this thread is a flipping expert, usually it involves the bullsh*t baffles brains method or someone replying that the answer to your question is buried somewhere in the thousands of posts from 2008. :bolt:
Never understand this with forums. If you have a question, ask. If you think it's obvious / stupid, ignore it. If you wanna help, help. Simples.

I'm sure that a lot of 'smart arse' answers are actually not intended to be such. But then I'm forever an optimist :)

Ok I've just topped it up between the levels and it was a good 15 mm below min.I don't remember it being that low Last week when I changed my intake tube.It was definately on min when I took delivery in December which I noticed.Ive done 2 trips to Cornwall and back in the last few weeks but temps have been normal.
I'm going to have to keep an eye on it.

No harm done but if your worried about something you can have a short fuse.I really don't want to go back to the dealer, I've already sampled there handy work.

My mistake for not picking up that you had a concern about your own car. I sincerely hope you don't have a problem.

Noticed yesterday my coolant was below minimum too after 2-3 weeks of ownership. I couldn't say what it was on when I collected it, so I don't know how much has been lost.

Top it up a bit between levels and keep an eye on it.
All my temps have been fine, and just done 350 miles with level ok.

I've never had to top up a coolant level, ever. Especially on a new car and it's below min quite a bit . I'm worried I've got a leak.
Temperatures have been normal. Not everyone on here is a car mechanic!
Thanks Avocet - Just checked mine - It's slightly below min (about 3mm) - will top up. There's still plenty in there though - will keep an eye on it.

Does the coolant not have to meet the WSS-M97B44-D2 specification ?

Make sure you check the level both hot and cold though. I checked mine the other day when the engine was still warm as it was right on the minimum. When I unscrewed the cap the pressure released and the level jumped up a good 10/12mm.

So just checked my coolant level and oil level ready for tomorrow. Oil is fine between the markers but my coolant was sitting below minimum. Popped to Ford and they gave me a bottle of the usual orange super plus stuff as that's what was on their system for the car. Weirdly it's a different orange to what's in the car (2 tone affect in the bottle) and only had to put in about 400ml to take it to half way between min and max. Should I have mixed the coolant first with water 50/50??
EDIT: Just seen that it's 12.9L capacity so adding 400ml of (coolant) anti freeze is going to make little difference to the overall mixture ratio. I guess the original stuff in the bottle is slightly different to the ford stuff I bought with the colours

Either way you didn't need much so I wouldn't worry!
