Just wondering if any of you had delivered cars with coolant level on minimum or slightly below level.Seems a bit odd as i would have expected levels to be near the maximum mark. All images I have seen seem to show levels on the low side???

Something for Manders to add to his thread of "things to check before picking up the car?"

Won't that be the cold level you are seeing?

Yes, but mine is below min, and was when the car was delivered,so what should the level be cold.If I filled to max when cold would it be too much ?

Some people might be a wee bit hungover this Saturday morning ;). Just fill it up halfway that's my usual!

Nope. Valid question / quote. That's what these forums are for IMO. Will make a mental note to have a squint when I pick mine up for sure.
Water level should only be checked when engine is cold & should be on or above minimum line. Never open when hot unless you want to risk a trip to A&E :headbonk:

Wasn't being a smart arse, sorry if you took it that way. Level should be between the marks when cold by the look of it.

I've never had to top up a coolant level, ever. Especially on a new car and it's below min quite a bit . I'm worried I've got a leak.
Temperatures have been normal. Not everyone on here is a car mechanic!

I would suggest back to the dealer first. I agree about not having to top up coolant and the car should come to you in spec and stay that way.

You'll soon learn that everyone (well not everyone the majority are helpful!) on this thread is a flipping expert, usually it involves the bullsh*t baffles brains method or someone replying that the answer to your question is buried somewhere in the thousands of posts from 2008. :bolt:
