So why wouldn’t you leave it in the car? You’ve already drilled holes for it as well.

I don’t understand this. Same as when people tune the car and then sell the tuning device separately.

Edit - unless you’ve totalled the car of course, otherwise…

I recently ordered the Audi deflector from ebay. Arrived a few weeks ago, with the "I've never been used vibe." Had to wait weeks for the weather to improve. Installed this morning, using the sdiver68 drill-and-grommet method. Worked like a champ. Looks like it came from the factory with little deflector holes. Also purchased some little caps just in case.

Note for those to use the grommet method: the plastic panel is pretty thick. I had to modify the grommets to fit properly. I just cut off the parts in the red rectangles below.

The thread that never dies. The several European alternatives to LTD(like Cabrio) are currently , effectively not sold in US due to tariff issues and even without tariff, require shipping from EU at high prices. No way was I paying $450+ for the LTD when I could get a better solution for less than $125 and some minor tinkering. I purchased the Audi OEM deflector on Marketplace for $100 and fashioned a no drill install using two powder coated J-shaped cabinet hooks similar the ones pictured in attached pdf (added one side foam tape to pad and tighten fit) for the rear tabs on the deflector, plus four 5/8" rubber coated Stainless steel cable clamps (I keep an assortment for all sorts of DIY uses) and two leftover 3 1/2" pieces of 3/8"ID/5/8"OD braided fuel line for securing the front extendable rods within the seat belt slot just aft of the belt guide. The hooks which have 2cm/7/8" clearance at top fit over plastic panel & provide a 3 inch drop, but the cable clamps add back about an half that for a net drop of 1 1/2" .

Solid as a rock tested at 80+mph, no holes, no straps, vibration and rattle free and nothing resting on seat belts or seat. My solution results in slightly higher mount up front and forward just a bit from others, although my 6'0" frame with seat reclined leaves inches to spare. Also, higher front mount point resulted in a more level appearance and reduced the forward tilt of the Audi deflector a bit. I would estimate about 50+% decrease in turbulence at speed, so don't expect miracles; it's a convertible after all. Clears top by about 1 inch. Thanks to OP Aggie96 and several others for your iterative ideas; appreciate this forum for that.
