Don't see too many people providing actual purchase prices for their cars, and it seems pretty useful info.

I picked up a 2017 magnetic convertible (NSW) for $70,500 drive away. I didn't haggle enormously, there may have been further to save, however I perceived it as a good deal. The car was I suspect a cancelled order as it arrived in country 3 days after I signed the docs and was delivered to me a week later. This may have impacted the price.

I also had received prices on three new 2016 build convertibles (ruby red, white, magnetic) ranging from $70,300 to $71,500 all drive away, without any significant negotiation or effort. I used these prices to do a deal on the 2017 car.

Hope this is useful to anyone else out there currently thinking about doing a deal.

I payed $72,200 on road, in March 2016 for my GT Vert. There are plenty of cars for sale now and with a new model around the corner, a decent discount of $5k+ should be obtainable.

There's aren't many convertibles bought compared to the Fastbacks, hence less pricing info :)
I paid about $72k, but that was for a 2016 when demand was highest.

You've done well to get a Magnetic for $70k, but yeah, that's the 2 star and the demand seems to have slowed - They're showing up on carsales for _under_ purchase price as of the couple of months.

Nope, you need to buy a stubby one, cost less than $50. Apparently just screws in.

Mine is not a vert but I paid 60K driveaway for my magnetic 6MT GT fastback. I didn't think id be able to get a new one cheaper anywhere else in Aus.

Yeah, one day I should get around to that - have done for two other cars, but not the Mustang yet, do you know of any?

You can get them for us$25 from cravenspeed in the USA. Postage is a bit steep I hear. I see you are in Sydney if you want to split postage on a couple let me know.

So how does external car cover work on the vert. Want a lightweight one for occasional night I may to leave it on the street - or driveway. Not so much weather protection but rather to disguise my Mustang.

Haha, that'll do.
Anyone got any experience with external covers for verts?
Plenty of options for our fastback friends.

Sounds like it has potential :)

I've got a covercraft cover (hello radar ) that has a Mustang logo on it, and the fit is a bit tight on the antenna - it's a bit weird actually. Anyway, a stubby antenna would make it fit better.

That said, a covered Mustang would be fairly obvious as a Mustang IMHO for anyone that cares, and anyone that doesn't care, isn't going to care - make sense?

And jumping back to topic, I just looked at getting a part from the US for another car... $100 part, quoted over US$400 for postage, haha. The small stubbies should be a little more reasonable, but I'm going to go with about AU$50 for postage... IF they'll agree to ship.

Let me know before you order as I would probably grab one as well and we can split the crazy shipping cost.
