Hi Everyone,

For those of you that called to various dealerships looking for allocations and deals on GT350s, Who did you ask to speak to? Did you request sales dept and ask whoever answers the phone, or ask for specific person (i.e Internet Manager, Sales manager, Owner, etc)?

I do not mind putting in the work to find deals, but I want to be able to talk to the right person. On one end, I feel that maybe the sales person may not know if they have allocations or GT350s inbound. On the other end, I feel that most Managers won't give the time of day to someone cold calling asking to talk to them. Any help is appreciated.

BTW, I am looking for MY2017 allocation to spec out, so if you know of one anywhere I would definitely appreciate the lead.

Thanks.

i always asked for whoever is the Shelby or Mustang expert. They usually have someone who specializes or is knowledgeable, at least for Mustangs. If you just ask for any sales guy, they may know nothing about Mustangs, this special version nor any of the special ordering considerations, etc. I then asked, do you have a GT350 allocation available? If you cant get that info (esp confirmation of allocation), you're talking to the wrong person.

Good luck

Best way in the email inquiry route....all the email traffic is tracked and you will get responses .....then you will have name and phone number of the internet Manager....I always got real fast reply...

I stopped in to my 2 closest dealers as I was browsing around and unfortunately most people are not that knowledgeable. I also submitted an online lead to my local dealer who did call back pretty quickly and then I stopped by last weekend. They quickly escalated to the GM (keep in mind this is a small dealership).

In my experience, the community here is pretty amazing. We are all car nuts and as soon as a deal pops up it is posted. Just keep refreshing your browser and watching posts like I did and I think you'll find your car.

I went the email route as well.

Once I found a dealer, he called for my credit card info to HOLD his allocation for me and then again to pay for a deposit... which turned into my down payment. Then everything else was either email or text message. He did call once the car arrived and then sent me a few pictures and a quick video of my car.

I always asked for the Sales Manager but most times they always said they needed to talk to the GM. With the deal that I found, I actually just spoke with the the Internet sales guy. That's not normal though as they would usually just shuffle you off to another sales guy. My initial communications were almost always through email.

Thank you for all the replies. I will definitely add emailing to my game plan. I know all this hard work will be worth it in the end :D

As others mentioned, I found the Sales Manager's email on the website and emailed the, directly. Definitely the way to go. You might also get lucky and a forum member will point one out to you.

I recommend editing your first post with details of where you are and what you're looking for (or posting in the ADM thread) so any awesome forum members can throw you a bone.

Not to sound like an old timer but....
You will be in a little different boat than the ones of us who were looking last year at this time.
It was funny (not really) you would call a dealership and the first 5 min of the conversation would be you explaining what a GT350 is.

Haha this happened countless times. Or the response of "oh they're not making those" or "there are only 200 PERIOD" or "those are going for 35k over sticker of we get one"

That's all true for sure. I remember one dealer I called in Nashville TN when I was looking for an R and the question he had was "do you want to buy or lease?"

I knew immediately that I was barking up the wrong tree!
