Confused ....

My car is MAP P 1.5 and has the tune that Adam created for them while he worked there and the car is a Beast! I have read lots of good things about the other tuners but that being said, only Adam will be tuning my car! He is the only Turner you will never read a bad thing about. On the fly map switching alone is worth the extra money for the Cobb vs SCT.

I have done both an SCT Tune with Unleashed and a Cobb tune with Adam and Tune+. Different approach due to the device and what can be done with each. Both tuners are great guys with high levels of dedication and attention to detail. My choice would be Tune+.

Why? You can PM, if you want... I'd like to know the exact difference... how engine pulls, shifting points, etc.

It is interesting... no one has actually done a review on here before for some reason.

They have, but it is just hidden in a bunch of other threads. I have over 20 documented customers that have switched from SCT to Cobb. Evil87GN was one of them that post on here often.

I don't tune these cars myself. So, I cannot give you the most fine details of what device can do what. However, it is my understanding that the COBB has a higher level of access and tunability. The SCT tune screamed TUNE, it was a very obvious tune. The COBB tune from Adam feels in many ways stock, just much, much faster. It is clearly superior, and requires less boost to achieve more performance than the SCT tune.

Very simply better.

Cobb has the same access (no pun) as SCT but they strip out what they need. SCT has EVERY TABLE UNDER THE SUN AVAILABLE but it is a little overwhelming and I would say 60% of it you don't need.

Alright guys, I spoke with Adam and have decided that I'm going to do an intercooler upgrade, with a downpipw, and Cobb access port. Where does everyone shop? What are some good products that you have and where did you get them? I have read about some sites being just a rip off, or not delevering. Reputable companies? Good products from what I listed. Thank you everyone. Really enjoying this site. Keep giving me info fellas!

ATM if you have the money for your fmic, downpipe depends on catted or not, I would go catted less problems and minimum difference hp

Mishimoto is reputable I bought their ic haven't had any problems with it but can't tell you how much it helps or not. It seems to do well while the temp is cold out we will see in the summer of it can actually hold up.

I have a Full Race intercooler. I was on the list for the ATM, but I decided I needed an intercooler before the return of the Messiah. I am quite satisfied with the Full Race and highly recommend it. The ATM is the Mac Daddy though...if you can get one.

My experience is with Cobb off the shelf. I then switched to Adam while he was working for MAPerformance and now has his own company Tune+. I have probably close to 30 revisions as I bug the piss out of Adam to get the safest and best tunes available. Adam has a very straight forward personality. He's not going to just give you all the power you want so you can blow up your engine, he's going to tell it like it is and give you a powerful yet safe tune that will work for your setup. I've had my tune changed after spark plugs, another tune after Intercooler, another after my Oil catch can believe it or not, Another after spell of bad gas (my car not me) that he increased timing/boost on, yet another after my Cat-back exhaust. Then we switched to multiple Maps which is a huge plus over any other tuner application as I can flip tunes on the fly with the car running even at 70 mph from 93 gas, e30 gas, and economy gas. I have a good customer/tuner relationship with Adam and he's fair and very prompt with his responses. You don't have to wait several days for him to respond to a question or a new upgraded tune. He's the first person that has taught me how critical data logging is and I've seen what a big improvement my car has made since day one. www.adamtuned.com he also has good spark plugs you can use on the site that are pre-gapped - That's my review.
