any of you guys out there with stage 1's(preferably with gt350 manifold, but whatever)? From my understanding the stages (1,2,3) are simply a reference to where the power band is with these cams correct? I'm not liking the low end loss cats are getting with the stage 3's, so I was looking at the stage 1 cams that are described as an upgrade to stock cams. I'm hoping there is no loss of tq with stage 1 and just an improvement over the stock power band, any input on this?

Subscribed. Can’t decide if I’m going with cams either. I know it’s expensive with the install not cheap, plus the parts. I’ve been hearing somewhere in the 35-40 RWHP

This is with stage 1's? I'm familiar with what the stage 3's are putting out, that's all you really see people installing and posting about. Hopefully someone can share results with stg 1's.

My installer didn’t specify.

I currently have stage 3 cams with a GT350 manifold, but I'm thinking of swapping them out for some stage 1 or 2 cams. Although I think my tune is suspect, the power band was definitely shifted higher than I had anticipated (my car lost power all the way up to 6,000 RPM), and I think I would like something a little better suited to the street, where my car is driven the majority of the time.

If I swap them out, I'll post the results on here so that everyone can see. The thing about cams that sucks is that very few people do them (and most go with the stage 3s), so there isn't a lot of data out there on them. Even Comp seems to be reluctant to give out data on them aside from the specs you can already see on the website.

FYI, if you plan on doing oil pump gears or a crank sprocket, you might as well do cams as well (as long as you can justify the expense) because they're right there.

yeah I spoke with comp and they aren't really offering much info like you said. Yes indeed, i'm ready to do opg's and sprocket so I'm trying to get this info on the cams before I shed the cash on them as well. I'll look forward to your results if you end up swapping

heard the l&m cams don't offer as much power but don't lose any low end. Don't know much about their somewhat new intake/exhaust cam combo
I've heard the same on the L&M cams. I'm surprised that they have a "cammed" sound at idle as I've always heard Coyotes should sound normal when cammed...

Man everyone around me is trying to talk me out of them. My tuner and speed shop were adamant to not waste the money as they put it. I’m not sure how much you guys were quoted but it’s a $3,000 dollar or so investment all in with the OPG. I’m not sure the HP warrants that type of investment, but that’s for each person to decide.

I’m very interested in seeing your guys results, and I hope I’m proved wrong, because who doesn’t love the lope:cheers:

For $1000 - $2000 more, you can buy a used Paxton or Procharger setup and make much more horsepower. I've been in this mental debate myself for a while, haha.

Looking forward to seeing more information regarding cams on an N/A motor.

That’s exactly what they both said to Me. Speed shop said guys go back to stock or upgrade all the time, and if I’m interested and have cash on hand they would reach out to me the next time that accurs.

Cams are a waste of time/money for a street car. Put that money towards a supercharger if you want more power.

I was at the same point some of you guys are at. When I was still N/A, I looked into going with cams and possibly heads after my headers and GT350 IM install. FOR ME, I realized the money that would be spent for HP gained was just not worth it. BUT, everybody has their own way of looking at things, and to me you're not right or wrong. It's your money, do what you want.

Well for me, I have JPC stage 3 heads, MMR 1000 built short block and a Stage 2 D1SC procharger. So, having put all that money in already, what's a little more........ :-)
