So I am installing a set of Comp Cams stage 1 blower cams and have a question. I am
Using the Ford manual to set them up and it appears that the left intake cam and the right exhaust cam are sitting a little proud when setting the caps on. These two cams also can not be rotated by hand when in the “neutral” position. The other two will slightly though. I did change the lashers and followers to Ford racing ones while I was in the heads. I also tried the old cams and they seem to fit the same, I am posting pics of the position they are currently in. From the pictures does this all look correct? Any help is appreciated.

Cams will always sit proud of the journal as every lobe wont be on its base circle at the same time and the lash adjusters are fully extended.

It could just be the angle of the photos, but to my eye, you need to adjust the position of the slots.

yeah, the ones I mentioned would turn by hand need to be set a little better as I forgot to put them back before the photo. The two that are sitting proud though have to stay as they are.

Bauern is right, you're just compressing the valve springs as you torque the caps down. Just make sure you don't have anything truly binding and draw it down slowly and evenly.

Got it buttoned up! Thanks guys, it was just the slight spring pressure holding the cams up
Slightly.
