Are you referring to Kelly at BMR? Because if that's the incident you are referring to then I can tell you that Kelly himself told me (FB Messenger) that he lost a bottom end due to a faulty IC Pump from his VMP kit, not Ken's tuning. The same car that is running 8's at 150+ on a tiny blower. What does someone spinning a rod bearing have to do with tuning? Did it burn a hole in a piston? Did it hammer the crap out of it with detonation?
The guy flat out said it wasn't the tune on page number 3. Did you read that far?
The fact of the matter is this.. we CHOOSE who was want to use to tune. Just like we choose blower brands, turbo brands, etc. I chose Lund because of the experience, sheer number of customers, and record setting cars. If I wanted Ken Bjonnes tuning my shit, I would have him doing so. If I wanted Amazon, or Bama, or Eric @ HP Tuners, or any other tuner tuning cars for us, I would. We CHOOSE to use Lund because they give us the best chance of success with the lowest incidence of failure. That's not just about selling product, that's about selling product to our customers that is reliable, proven, and the best that we can offer.
If you want to use the guy, fine.. But, this whole "lund sucks.. Ken is better" thing is lame, and it pisses me off.
Ah my bad, it was a different one. I'll look for the other one tomorrow.lol.. Car wasn't even tuned by Lund in the first place.
Are you implying a tune caused an oil pump gear to shatter? So one can say a tuner can tune OPG behavior?Ah my bad, it was a different one. I'll look for the other one tomorrow. How about your car? But but but, I thought you said "ZERO,"
Uh oh, someone's upset, I know your secret. From all those questions you had I'd swear you are a tuner. No? Ah, that's right, you sell kits.It took all of about 5 minutes.. Sorry, I type quickly. That's 5 minutes that I will gladly spend defending a company that has done a lot for us.
Faulty pump, huh? So, where were the safeguards to pull timing once IAT's got above a level that was unsafe? Gotta love tuning on the edge. Who needs safeguards, right?
Don't like the mic pic? Cool deal man.. I didn't want to waste time looking over mic pics to make sure I got the best one. I'd rather spend that time defending Lund, and trying to spread the truth about what's really going on.
What motor did we blow up again? Oh.. you mean an oil pump gear failure? Right, I forgot to have the tuner check the "don't blow the fucking oil pump gear up" tab when they wrote the file. Get out of here with that nonsense. I was honest about it, and didn't even have to say a word, did I?
All you need to hear from me? lol.. You don't dictate what I say here. If you don't like what I have to say, then find the fucking back button on your browser and give it a little tap.
I have never been out of shape on this forum, EVER. But I'll be damned if I'm going to sit here and watch this bullshit go down without saying something.
Right.. Keep digging. I'm sure you'll conjure up something.Ah my bad, it was a different one. I'll look for the other one tomorrow. How about your car? But but but, I thought you said "ZERO,"
It's really simple.. Build in failsafes for high IC temps. Then you won't have a failure because your tune didn't cover for a possible IAT issue. If it wasn't important, we wouldn't log it. Failsafes are there for a reason.. Especially when you are running that hard. I know Kelly.. I don't need to see your messages. Are you referring to Kelly at BMR? Because if that's the incident you are referring to then I can tell you that Kelly himself told me (FB Messenger) that he lost a bottom end due to a faulty IC Pump from his VMP kit, not Ken's tuning. Also, please search, no where will you find me saying that Lund sucks, nowhere. I know better then that, I'm just sharing my experiences while Ken was a Lund employee as well as after. All you saw when you opened this thread was "Oh no, I better do damage control because my only tuner might lose business to another tuner.
As a non tuning vendor, you don't really have any options. Lund is it, or Ken, and obviously you have beef with Ken. I know all about Amazon, Rick's dyno is 7 miles from my house, and we all know better to use Bama, even the noobs. Your choices are extremely limited.
Who is this Ken you speak of?I couldn't agree more as i had the exact same experience which is why i recommended Ken. After dealing with him it was night and day.
Guy who used to work for Lund. Was fired and now tunes cars on his own. He is willing to tune a little more aggressively and has made more power for several folks here.Who is this Ken you speak of?
It depends on your car and setup. I think 5-6 revisions to get a car dialed in is amazing. Thing how many passes it takes a dyno tuner to dial it in with the car in their hands. Remember then a remote tuner is relying on an end user to give them the correct data for them to tweak. Send an email with your questions separate if you need to.I know how u feel. I'm doing the remote tuning right now. I asked a couple of questions and nothing. I'm on my third revision. It just seems like they copy and paste lol. Anyone know how many revisions it takes for the tune to be ready? I was told to do 1800-6000rpm pull on 3rd gear that's it. Anyone heard of Dakota Cuzz that's the person that is sending me the revision.
