Hi everyone!
I have a question?
I recently hit a half piece of an 18 wheeler tire on I-75. It ended up damaged the whole front of the car and costing nearly $10,000 to get it fixed. The question is that where the car is being repaired isn’t able to recalibrate the collision warning box in several attempts. Since I have a Lund tune in there, I was wondering if that can cause the issue of not being able to do the calibration?
I attached before and after impact.

thank you in advance for your response.

An engine tune should not affect the front radar unit. The calibration requires the OEM diagnostic system and specific aiming targets to get the mounting angle correct and then calibrate the system. Your car will need to go to the dealer or a reputable 3rd party calibration company to get it right. We use Elitek at my shop. They are nationwide and may be available in your area. https://elitekauto.com/

Okay, thank you for your expertise in this matter. I’ll get it to the dealership tomorrow to get it recalibrated. Thank you so much.☺

Ford dealers use Ford FDRS which is the main diagnostic software sold by Ford. I don't think FDRS will recognize a PCM with non OEM firmware. Connecting to the PCM is the first step in making a connection to a car with FDRS. When reading the PCM fails, I think the rest of the connection to the car fails. FDRS will probably say no vehicle found. Let us know if this is incorrect and what you figured out.

Can you flash back to the stock tune before you take it to the dealer or do it in the parking lot when you arrive?
