So, I have a 2020 mustang gt premium pp1 with 50,400 miles. I recently got code p0496 for EVAP and replaced the top side purge valve. When I did, I was met with a turbo sound like I had an air leak (I let my girlfriend install it because she thought it would be fun). So, after it ran for a minute, I heard a couple ticks from the engine bay (1 probably every 5-20 seconds as they were seemingly random). This didnt worry me too much and I took it for a drive. This time I got code p0430 that has to do with the cats emissions and the turbo noise when driving was noticeable plus the tick started to increase as the engine warmed up. I did end up reputting it on and now the vacuum/ turbo sound is much less, but the tick is still there.
What I have noticed after a few drives is that p0496 is back but inactive and code p0430 hasnt came back since I cleared it. When the car starts and is cold the tick is almost nonexistent for the first minute or so and then picks up as the engine gets warmer. It isnt constantly ticking as it gets warmer but still sounds like a lifter tick(Although it makes sick beats now when idling warm lol). Another thing to note is that when driving you cant hear the tick above 3-4k rpm. Plus when you press on the gas it actually becomes a consistent tick that speeds up a bit with rpm but the difference is it stops when you let off the gas until you're either idling or cruising again. Also when cruising it isnt always a consistent tick again it makes sick beats instead lol.
I am posting this from a laptop but I do have videos of cold vs warm idling for anyone interested.
Please let me know what you think may be causing this or if you have experienced anything similar
