I've been reading up on the cobra jet IM and saw that there are two options: add clearance to the hood (aftermarket hood or cut the stock hood) or drop the engine with aftermarket engine mounts (think I found that 1/2" is what is needed).
If you can drop the engine (I heard headers will be an issue), is it possible to install a strut brace with the cobra jet? Or is the drop just enough to get the cobra jet IM to clear the hood?
Reason I'm asking is I'm weighing the benefits versus detriments of going with the CJ. Seems like it is a great intake but it has challenges associated with it in order for it to work with some of the stock parts.
Ideally, I'd like to be able to get the engine dropped enough to clear the factory hood and strut brace but high enough where I don't have clearance issues with other parts like headers. Based on pictures I have seen, I'm not sure that is doable.
