How many are you talking? Is this all form tunes? I am a total noob at this stuff, bought a car and was just wanting some better performance out of it.
There are quite a few. We do not call out companies by name, any due diligence would have to be done by you. I'm sorry, just professional etiquette.

What? LOL. A few months in and you've completely given up hope? You got some expensive ADHD.
I am not typically like this, but, I am throwing in the towel. Love the car itself, made a bad choice on the engine selection.

No idea why you've given up on the engine so fast. You had some great results very quickly.

Nope, just a change of heart. I miss my Coyote and I don't think I can live with this car for 3-4 years.

Don't let any one comment prevent you from having more fun with the car. I've only seen one EcoBoost Mustang with a blown motor here on the forums and don't think it was ever resolved as to what actually happened. Definitely research the products you're going to put on your car. But, most of the bigger companies have put tons of R&D into these products. The COBB OTS maps make good power and still have a very large margin of safety.

My concern is just how much $ are we talking to 'upgrade' to match/exceed GT performance?

I was excited about the idea of 11's w/ minimal mods, but the fact is the LM pass is the only one I've seen...using certain tactics to get there. I have yet to see any private individuals replicate or surpass their time. I also agree w/ Mike...there are plenty of tracks in the South that are open where customers could be proving a northern company's capabilites.

I don't even care so much about ET. I simply want a manual car that will trap 120 mph or so, since whatever I get will be a fair weather DD and road trip car. The notion of decent hp and 30+ mpg has had me hanging on to the development of this platform, but learning of some of these recent roadblocks may necessitate upgrades that cost more money than I'm willing to spend...and 120 mph trap speeds aren't that fast in the grand scheme of things...so those wanting to go faster/quicker must see a gigantic hurdle in front of them.

I'm weighing the cost of a flywheel/clutch combo to hold the torque, as well as all of the various bolt ons, and potentially a hpfp, which after some research aren't cheap for some other cars, and safe to assume won't be for this one either. Then the time investment for me to install...God forbid some of the guys on this board pay to have others install stuff for them...and I'm less enthused about the EB everyday.

RubyRed already posted a video showing a tuned Ecoboost running with stock GTs. They were all comparable at 0-60, a drivers race. Rolls didn't go well though for the ecoboost.

Turbo - $2500-3000, IC - $400-500, Downpipe - $400 Tune - $400-600, Meth/HPFP (when available) - $400. These are costs that are typically associated with Ecoboost cars. (The HPFP cost is from Mazda Speed3) Anything other than that like an exhaust is more preference.

So, $4100 - $4900. About the cost difference between an EB and a GT. However, this will get you above a GT. The clutch, not really sure where that will give out. WMS replaced theirs but I haven't seen much information on why. It is holding up around 400 ft-lbs of wheel torque down low, so as long as the power curve shifts to the upper RPM from the upgraded turbo, it should hold.

^^ all of that is assuming that you are going against a stock GT, they do some easy bolt ons and they will blow a mod'd EB away.

Easy boltons will make the same power numbers (let's say 420/400 wheel numbers) but, the EB will make those numbers much earlier in the power range due to the turbo. It will hold 400 wheel torque from 3500-5500, not hitting 400 wheel torque at 5500 then dropping off like the GT. The GT will probably still take the EB at a 60- roll, but no way will it take it from a dig.

Probably going to want HPFP and Meth, no?

How much to install all of that? Not realistic to think everyone (even most?) will be a DIYer.

True...and the weight advantage leans to the EB but on the big end/after 5500 the GT is going to walk away.

On my 2013 with the CJ intake/tb/cai/Mike Rousch tune/Circle D/pypes headers and a lot of suspension mods I went 11.2@121 in the heat of the summer, in the nice mineshaft air at MIR in the fall it would have been a 10.8/7 car.

Lot's of torque early on is not necessarily your friend from a dig - unless you can put it down. So now add bigger wheels/tires and suspension to the list.
