If the OP has limited it to Bama or Cobb why is Livernois being inserted? There are many other threads where people can discuss whose tuning they like, this one is not it.

Nice to see threads are dereailed on here just like other forums, lol....

No need to repeat yourself.

Because the OP didnt specify why it is that Cobb or Bama are the only two options I felt compelled to mention the other tuners which I feel are either equally qualified or better.

There are several other options with different benefits. I personally would want to see a comparison between Bama and Unleashed since they both use SCT, both are same price, and both offer free etunes before I made that decision

There was a need to repeat myself as the hint was not taken with my first post....

Doesn't matter if the OP specified or not, he said Bama or Cobb.

Not disagreeing with you about the comparisons but this is not the thread to do it in.

Ok I know there are a lot of quality tuners out there. I think I am going with one of these 2 for reasons that are too lengthy to go into here. Sell me on each, and what performance gains have YOU seen and experienced.

Thanks
Hey Tcnarber,

Having ripped our EcoBoost with the Bama Tune I'm pretty certain that it would put car lengths on my '08 Bullitt without breaking a sweat!

The Bama Team has had their EcoBoost for quite some time and they've been making some serious improvements on the cars overall drivabiltiy, horsepower and torque.

Our EB in stock form put down 258 RWHP/277RWTQ right off the truck and after the Bama Team got their hands on it they was able to best a 283RWP Pull and 341RWTQ. This was only with a Bama X4/Tuner and 93 Track Tune! This is power that will literally pin you back in your seat and it's absolutely 100% noticeable. If you haven't seen the video take a look!

We even had popular YouTuber David (ThatDudeInBlue) come up a couple months back to check it out as well...Here's what he had to say

[ame]

Yea for the EB id lean toward unleashed, livernois, cobb. Bama just doesnt have the ecoboost/turbo experience of the other three and they almost seem like they gave up on it since they havent posted in this section in like a month. But BAMA does take into account all of your mods when they send a tune and they do free revisions (but so does unleashed)

Hey EcoSwag1990,

We're definitely not done working on our EcoBoost with the Bama Crew and we have some "big" plans for in coming soon!

What gave you that idea anyway? Do I need to post more!? Bama had been working on their EcoBoost tunes well before the 2015's were released so while they're on YouTube every day they're always working on new and exciting products...*Cough**Cough*....Like the Bama Performance Intercooler!

Bama was just down in North Carolina with the guys from Kooks Performance test fitting their 3" Catless Competition Downpipe and their 2.5" Catback that's going to be sold only at AmericanMucle as well!

I just ran out to the dyno and saw this ...Let me know what you think and I'll have a new EcoBoost post up shortly!

Also, I can't help but notice that you're only about 45 minutes from us...If you bought the tuner Bama is happy to Dyno tune it for you Free of Charge but I would want to see our video team document it as well as have it posted in this thread!

I personally didn't think I would use the map switching - but I use it all the damn time.

I do 99% of my driving now with it on the Economy/low boost map. Car is a dog on this map, it sucks and it's boring hahaha

...but it's nice, after 4-5 days of driving with this map, to switch back to the high boost map and re-appreciate the tune...
Say dog, what kinda MPG you gettin' on that economy tune? That map switching is what's keeping COBB a serious option for me.

My city mileage improves significantly -- I've seen ~25-26mpg on city driving. Highway economy is around ~34mpg depending on the speed.

A lot of the help is how it adjusts the throttle map -- it's a lot less responsive, which makes driving it lightly much easier.

I'm pretty new to tunes and I'm seeing a lot of acronyms that I'm not familiar with. I'm not trying to hijack the thread as this might help people like me that are trying to make the same decision.

ATR?
OTS?

Our car in Detroit metro area driving sees around 27.3 tuned, and if you follow our fairly low 60-70 limits 34-35 with the cruise...if you do the Livernois speed limit not so much lol

But if your car is a stick you can always turn crazy low RPM at 35-45MPH on city streets.

ATR?
OTS?
All those acronyms get confusing!

ATR is short for Accesstuner Race. Accesstuner is our custom tuning software that allows any of our Protuners to make you a custom map. The Pro version is what shops use and the Race version is designed for end users to make their own changes to the factory tuning tables and out custom tables.

OTS = Off The Shelf map. The Accessport includes free OTS maps for various modification levels that work great. But if you want a little more power or to be custom tuned for your exact modifications, local weather, or local fuel, a custom map is a great option.

Accesstuner should be available in a few weeks and I know a bunch of Protuners that can't wait to get their hands on it!

In regards to monitoring on the Accessport, I find its nice to know how my car is performing. For example, the Octane Adjustment Ratio (OAR) is a specific monitor Ford uses to make sure the gas you are using is good quality and to, in turn, add more timing to make more power. The monitor ranges from -1 (the best, most timing added) to +1 (the worst) and can default to 0 after a reflash. In the stock setting, this is what allows the car to run low octane fuel like 87. It recognizes timing needs to be pulled, and changes the OAR number to something closer to 0 or 1. So a real world example would be that you pull up your car to the dyno for some baseline numbers. First, you would check the OAR value is at -1 so the car is making the most power it can in a stock configuration. Then, flash the car with a performance Stage 1 map. After the reflash, if you did another dyno pull right away and the OAR hasn't "learned" to -1, you wouldn't get the best power possible and you might be bummed out with your dyno numbers. By monitoring this value on the Accessport, you can apply load to the car on the dyno, build the OAR value up, and take a best performance comparison run.

Another case might be on a road trip filling up with unknown gas. The car might be unhappy, start to pull timing, and you would see changes to the OAR monitor live on the Accessport. Then, you could quickly switch to a less aggressive map until you get better gas.

Thanks. I'm in IT so I learn a lot of TLAs but those are new to me.
I don't race her and don't trust myself on custom tunes so OTF is probably better for me.

Why?

I've never had to change my tune of the fly..... Ever. It's either 93 octane or 91. I never had a reason to feel all giddy slamming in a new tune cause I just topped off with 93! BAM racecar!

Or do you remove your intake while driving down the road where a different tune is required?

And what does the hand held show you that the dash doesn't?

And with that knowledge, what can you adjust to remedy what your seeing?

Can you move the target afr? Moving timing? Add or dump boost?
Wow...you just went full retard didn't you. Never go full retard man

argue all you want, make all the jokes you want. certain things just aren't right and not funny.
If you think saying that to someone is funny then you have your own issues to work through.

this thread has become dumb lol
car hasn't even been out long enough to know off hand "which tunes are better" etc... the results are in such a limited quantity that it's not even viable yet.
