Hi fellow Manual transmission drivers,

I got my new toy three weeks ago and I'm loving it. I was surprised that the gear changes are relatively straight forward and easy considering every thing I've read about the shifter on the MT82. I do have an MGW race spec sitting on the garage shelf ready for an install, so should be an interesting comparison when I get around to putting it in.

My question is about aftermarket clutch springs. I find the clutch bite point a bit vague, I'm not having any trouble at all and my take offs are generally smooth but I find the bite feeling I got with other clutches in times gone past is just not there. Would some of you who have changed the spring share your experience.

Thanks in advance, Nong

Bear in mind that the stock MY17 springs are reportedly different to the MY16s.

I pulled out the clutch spring and didn't replace it - easy $0 mod and easily reversed if you change your mind. Plus bonus 50 grams of weight reduction lol
Your mileage may vary but I didn't get any obvious clutch free play
