I removed my clutch spring a while ago, but I just got my Steeda spring in the mail today. When I went to assemble everything I noticed the black rod sticking up from the bottom that connects with the top piece of the assembly was sheared off.

I was able to get the assembly back into place, and I pumped the clutch 20 or so times and it seems to function as normal..My question is, does this rod serve a purpose? You think I will be fine running it like it is?

The center rod is just to ensure the top and bottom piece stay aligned with each other. I think the spring will essentially do the same thing. Sounds like it's still working OK for you, so would just use it as it and keep an eye on it down the road.

Thanks! I see a little flex in the spring when I push the clutch, but it feels like it's working as intended. I actually just picked up a new perch assembly off a guy from facebook last night so I'll keep it in as a test until I get my new one for those who might have broken theirs.

I'm in the same boat, and notice it rocking back and forth. Wonder if it will come apart under fast / hard shifting.
