I just purchased a 2017 v6 from Carvana. The car has 23,000 miles on it, practically brand new. The clutch sometimes feels like its "bouncing" while engaging (hard to describe) and with the clutch in and the car in idle I can feel some vibrations. 2nd gear also does not feel as smooth when entering with the shifter as the other gears. Normal? I can't imagine a clutch is toast after 23,000 miles.

I have a slightly different trans, but I was always surprised by the "bouncing" effect - I figured a manual should be more solid/direct feeling and not have any slop or bouncing.

Last year I replaced my "sprung" OEM clutch with an "unsprung" McLeod RST and the "bouncing" or slop when engaging went away completely. I believe the springs on the OEM clutch are what contribute most to the bouncing effect.

The downside to the unsprung clutch is it's easy to kind of "bounce" the whole car now when getting going from a stop, you have to be careful with it or it can jerk you along til you let off the throttle and let it regain composure.

So my uneducated guess about the sprung vs unsprung is the bouncing effect is making the car overall easier to drive with that bit of slop.

well I just resolved mine, hill hold was obviously fighting the clutch on the smallest of inclines, so whenever pulling away it was fighting the clutch obviously then bouncing. turned it off and no more bouncing!
