Its not the black plastic that's causing the issue. The black mustangs don't have that piece. Mine still shows fingerprints. SO its not the car... its your greasy fingers! :)
The black Mustang I saw had the same piece. But regardless, the point is that the most common way to shut the leads leaves fingerprints.

I'm not too worried about, my biggest complaint is closing this trunk takes more effort to close than other cars I've had - even though (or likely because) it weighs as much as a European Swallow.

I have the automatic-closing trunk lid on the GT... Leave it open and punch it off the line...

I use my wrist on the actual top of the trunk, not the black frame

That's all well and good for you GT guys, us ecoboosters don't have that option. ;)

Just reach back from drivers seat and pull the back seats down and slide stuff into the trunk from there

Warning: This process may require long arms

I use the edge of my hand (think old school "karate chop") on top of the trunk lid. It prevents finger prints and reminds me that Chuck Norris hates fingerprints.

I blade my hand (like a karate chop) and index the edge of the spoiler with the lowest joint of my little finger.

BMW says to use the ornament. Then you don't get marks on the paint.

Find a way to tie a string on the inside of the Trunk. Then Pull on the string with enough force to close the trunk. Problem Solved!

Closing the trunk...

I am training myself to use my palms pressing down on the trunk lid "crease" (sp?) to close it. After looking at a couple of new Mustangs, I did a little experiment last week at my dealer's showroom...
I carefully wiped off the trunk lids on the three Mustangs in the showroom. There were several potential customers being shown the cars. The black one looked like a whole troop of first graders with greasy fingers had shut the trunk. I was amazed that the red one showed prints just as readily as the black one when you looked at the trunk from an angle. The white one had a couple of smudges but they weren't really noticeable unless you were looking for them.

Any TY owners out there that have noticed fingerprints? The only one I have seen so far was the first Mustang at my dealers...and I was too excited to just be able to look at a 2015 than to check for print susceptibility.

Seriously I loved both my BMWs and still drive my Audi daily. But I just want two mustangs now.

I use the "have a silver car" method. Works every time.

Drive off, the trunk will slam shut by itself as you accelerate.
