So last night I was showing a friend my new 2015, and we went to take a look at the (surprisingly small) Ecoboost engine. I went to close the hood, and dropped it down from about 1 foot up, but it didn't close all the way. It seemed to catch on the latch, but didn't have enough force to fully close.

After much hesitation, I dropped the hood from about 3-4 feet up, and the hood came 'crashing' down with a loud THUD, and that seemed to do the job. My question - is it normal to have to drop the hood from that high up? My car is only 2 days old, so you can understand why I'm hesitant to drop the hood from a few feet up. My last car, a Mazda CX5, didn't require that I drop the hood from that height.

Try this, been werking for me...with hood about 8-12 inches open drop and press gently near where the latch is as it falls. I've tried just dropping from one foot and it just seems to bounce and not latch.

I just tweaked the rubber stoppers on both sides... Lowered them almost all the way, the hoob closes much easier now, and it doesn't vibrate at speed.

You'll have to give it a few tries, but it eventually works much better.
