Hi guys,

Can someone tell me if the clear bra on my hood is done correctly? As you will see from the pictures, the clear bra does not go all the way down to the hood. There is a small portion of the hood that is not protected. I'm upset by this, because the front part of the hood is supposed to get the most damage.

I order a complete hood wrapped and I'm shocked and disappointed to see that the front part not completely wrapped.

Can someone verify if this is common practice by installers?

Thanks.

Update: I can't upload more files. It keeps saying the upload of file failed. Every time I upload another pic, it just replaces the current one. :(

I can try to describe my issue. At the front of the hood, the exposed hood is about the size of a width of a key. That's pretty large in my book. I have seen hoods of cars that got dinged at those spots.

Is this installation common practice?

Thanks.

No, that is wrong. At the front of the hood, even if it is not wrapped around the edge (which it should be really) it should be no more than 3/16ths from the edge, or less.

Can see the pic now. Appears incorrect. The gap on the bumper is about right (assuming that is the bumper on the right), maybe a bit large, but within reason. The gap on the left is far to large.

Sorry, should have described the picture. The gap on the left is the hood itself. The one on the right is the front of the car (part of the bumper(?)).

The image is rotated counter clockwise by 90 degrees. Sorry. Trying to upload more, but I keep getting error messages.

Yes, the right is OK. But the left (the hood) seems too large to me.

That looks pretty bad and is definitely going to chip there. Take it back for sure.
Thanks. I'm not happy myself. Let me see what others say. I might have to call the installer tomorrow.

What's unfortunate about this is that I had the car in Monday morning. I didn't get it back until Thursday morning (although, they were done by Wednesday evening but I couldn't pick it up). They didn't have the right size for the hood, so they had to order the correct size, which didn't get in until late Tuesday.

Anyway. Let's see what other members think. So far, people are thinking that it's a bad installation.

Thanks.

It's not reasonable at all. I've got both of my cars wrapped with a clear bra right now and both extend over the edge and tuck underneath. That's how they should be done. Leaving exposed area, especially on the leading edge of the hood like that, if just asking for chips and laziness on the installers part.
