Classic Recreations will now outfit your 1966-style GT350CR or '67-style GT500CR with a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6. Producing 365 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, it's the same engine you'd find in the F-150 or Expedition. But the company will also tune it up to 600 hp to more closely resemble the powerplant in the new Ford GT. Combine that with a flat torque curve and less mass in the nose and the turbo Shelby emerges as a compelling option.
For the Chinese market, the company is also offering the 2.0-liter EcoBoost four from the Focus ST. Only instead of 252 hp and 270 lb-ft, Classic Recreations has tuned the engine to deliver 300 hp and 360 lb-ft of torque... from an engine weighing only 300 pounds. That's only a little less power but a fair bit more torque than you can get in the new EcoBoost Mustang, and with classic styling to boot.
