Custom steering wheels sourced from mainland China are cheap for a reason, quality is a hit or miss gamble. However, when a US based vendor like CJ Pony Parts is willing to slap their brand name on such a safety related product but not stand behind it when a defect is found, be warned. I purchased an Accelatec steering wheel last year but I didn't get a chance to install the switches and prepare it for installation until recently do to an unfortunate medical crisis that delayed so many of my plans. When I informed CJ Pony how the spoke covering was too thick to allow the front and rear plastic trim pieces to interlock, they were at first interested but then dismissed the issue because I purchased the item one year ago. (Credit card company only covers 180 days for disputes.)

Actually, you cannot know the fitment unless you install it. The OP noted that a subsequent medical crisis sidelined his plans. Been there. I can understand, and extend mercy. Businesses are not so quick to do so however.

Regardless of the timeline, the fitment shown would not be acceptable.

So to the OP, when installing my aftermarket steering wheel, I had a gap on one side, and I learned that my wire routing was to blame. During reinstallation I had wires routed on the wrong face of the steering wheel spoke, resulting in the trim pieces not seating, similar to your situation.

I know it is a pain to pull the wheel and check/rearrange, but I hope that is all that your problem is.

Sucks to have that happen but most companies have a return window clearly posted on their website. It’s no fault of theirs if you waited till after that window ended.

I just put mine on yesterday and it’s basically the same in one spot on right side. The left side fits tighter. I didn’t realize they don’t include the spring clips for the airbag until after I had already bolted it on. Had to pop it back off and fight with those to get them in place.

None these issues are safety related.

However I'm bumping to ask thise of you who have this wheel if the diameter of this is much bigger than stock. I find myself with Lego man hands holding the Revesol wheel I just installed and may return it.

Guardian Designs offers various steering wheel diameters and profiles but their pricing is reflective of a (probably) better product that uses OEM cores instead of the cheap Chinese re-pops that dominate the aftermarket. The CJ Pony wheel closely matches the stock diameter but the grip is thicker and harder than the OEM smooth leather.
