Check your coil packs!

While pulling Tony's coil packs off of his engine in preparation to remove the front cover I noticed that several of the coils were rather hard to unseat. Once I got them all out 6 of the 8 were put in with the seal boot all bunched up. There is a seal that seats around the valve cover and down into the spark plug tube. This could potentially allow water and debris into the plug hole. This may be a isolated incident, but worth checking on your cars. Also just a note, if you ever remove your spark plugs, be sure to use a air gun and blow out the spark plug holes before you remove your plugs to prevent crud falling down into the cylinder.

Interesting. Glad Paula isn't my engine builder (j/k, but knocks on wood).

Maybe when anyone has an engine related issue we should start asking who the engine builders were. It could easily be human error (with these hand built engines) rather than any flawed engineering design that are causing the somewhat random issues seen thus far.
