New owner of 2015 Ford mustang only have one copy of the key. Looks like the dealer is at $300 to get a replacement I know used keys can be bought for 30 $50. Any easy way to program them?

Not sure about a 2015, but 218 and newer it can't be done. You can make your own 3rd key, but you need 2 keys to do it. Most good locksmiths program key fobs now.

You need 2 keys to program another key yourself, and it has been that way since at least 2005. That prevents a valet from making a duplicate of your key.

I have heard that some locksmiths can clone a key but I don't know that for sure.

When I bought my car it only had 1 key. Since it was CPO Ford required it to come with 2. The dealer had me meet a mobile locksmith in the parking lot. It took about 15 minutes and he did it completely, fob programming and emergency key, from the VIN.
I don't know what the cost was as the dealer paid the invoice.

Our local Ace Hardware makes and programs keys and fobs. Not sure on price or if all of them do it but may be worth calling your local store.

Buy the correct replacement fob and take to Batteries Plus . They charge me $89 to program. I went to ACE 1st but they only would do it on weekdays. Hope this helps. My car is a 15.

Thats not a bad price. My remote was $90 from Ebay. Plus the price to program. Also I forgot to add that ACE would not program a customer provided fob where as Batteries Plus did.
