Nope- it isn't "last year's car"
Sorry, I meant it is a MY2016, rather than a MY2017.

Even if there were significant differences between MYs (other than the lower tax), like most people I'd still rather stick with early delivery and DIB for the extra £500, but no harm in checking that the price is correct - if you don't ask you don't get! ;)

Isn't the new car tax just starting on a certain first registration date, rather than the MY?

That's my understanding, but I was told a new car ordered now wouldn't be delivered until 2017 anyway, so think it would be a 2017 car by any measure.

But I could be registered Feb 2017 and would still be £500 tax even though it's a MY17.
Ah, it goes by the tax year. Just to make things even more complicated

That makes me feel a bit better - would have been no advantage in placing a new order.

Got it through Desmond's actually. Will be a bit of a pain come delivery time (I live 5 mins from Lisburn) but Lisburn couldn't get me the colour I was after. Will enjoy the long drive home anyway!

Yes, will definitely have to get a meet organised. Will be interesting to see what kind of numbers are ordered in NI. My mate spotted a black convertible in Finaghy already.
My order is through them as well, I actually placed the order with Pat Kirk's in Omagh who then put the order through Desmonds. Don't expect to get much info from them, they just seem to ignore me.

There are a few on this site but they don't seem to be on as much as the mainlanders.
