Changing color?

So I ordered my mustang on November 20. I have not even been assigned a vin number yet, at least that I am aware of. I emailed my sales guy this morning to change my color from silver to black and he replied and said that he checked and its too late to change. Do you guys think that's correct? From what I understood I thought you have quite some time to make changes, maybe I'm wrong but I don't have a vin, or edd or anything. Curios if you think I'm getting the run around? Thanks

Well I just got an update from the dealer and he gave me my vin number. Vehicle shows to be in production with a EDD of the end of January. I guess it is too late

Yup, looks like you are Build week 12/15. Window Sticker link should be active today at some point. Once the car went into production (probably yesterday) your order is set in stone.

I changed my color choice a week after getting a VIN, which ended up being about three weeks prior to production. It should be a no brainier unless your car is farther along then you've been told.

EDIT: Guess that was the case.

I changed my order to include the the Premier Trim on Monday (already had a VIN assigned) and the car went into production yesterday. I ordered on 11/30, so I was thinking that I had plenty of time before production to make changes. It was a really close call but the change ended up going through.
