Hey everyone,

With all the gauges we can monitor on these cars, is there any in particular I should be paying closer attention to?

I feel like I should leave the setting on the dash that displays a handful of them.

Car is strictly leisure driving with some spirited driving as well.

Thanks!

Oil pressure - You should see around 100 psi or higher when cold start, around 30 psi when hot. It doesn't matter what number as long as its not zero. If its zero, turn off the car immediately or you will brick the engine as there may be oil leak/no oil in engine.
Oil temperature - make sure it's warm before you floor it (around 200F or higher)

I asked the same question about two years ago. At the Ford Performance School they said the car will tell you when there is a problem.

Just get the engine oil to 190 before long pulls on the throttle past 4K

My car has been rock solid so I keep an eye on tire pressure.
That said, 190+ oil temp should be achieved before WOT.
As TENTEX stated, you’ll be alerted if something goes south. When my oil pressure dropped to zero at Track Attack, the audible alert and flashing gauges went off. Problem was it took a couple laps before I realized it. Helmet on and both windows down prevented me from realizing it…..first time track experience for me.
I thought I noticed it right away. Discovered otherwise watching my videos.

Thank you guys!

Are these engines typically a little noisy at idle? My 03 cobra engine is, and wondering if these are suppose to be as well?

I tried researching it, but couldn't find anything.

ROFL

Sorry couldn't help myself.

Yea, it's an aluminum block overhead cam engine. They make all kinds of noises.

This is the best answer. There are a bunch of computers monitoring everything and you'll get an alert if something gets out of spec, so don't waste your time watching gauges. As @460Fred said, my cluster gauge reads out tire pressures when I'm on track. As for everything else, you car has an app for that.

Or just the tach!

I started a topic on tbis some time back how I wish the tach was on the right for ease of view.
I used to wish it was on the right too, until I figured out that the shift lights pretty much made the tach obsolete.
