The other day I was wiping down my car with ceramic detailer. Wind picked up, and I got some on my windshield, and now I can’t get a slight film off my windshield. I have used Windex and elbow grease with no success. Does anyone have any ideas on a convenient and easy method to get this film off my windshield?

Or, just coat the whole windshield. It will make driving in the rain an easier proposition.

I've found that using my car wash mit and a little car wash soap does the trick. Using window spray seems to leave streaks and film if I don't polish it.

If you have a strip wash shampoo, that will do it. Just be careful if you have a traditional wax on your paint as it will remove some of that too. Same with Dawn dish soap, will do the same thing.

First thing, depending on what Windex you used, it can be either alcohol or ammonia based, I would try would be an IPA type product. Carpro Eraser, Gyeon Prep or even just straight isopropyl alcohol.

Failing that, progress to a clay bar. If that fails, then you will need to polish the glass, by hand or machine.

A soap will not remove this issue, unless is it extremely alkaline or acidic.

This is a strange issue as spray ceramic sealants/spray ceramic detailers generally work fine on glass. Another thing you can try is to apply the product to the whole glass in question, sometimes removing like with like can work in situations like this.
