Has anyone installed ceramic clear coating on their paint yet? I heard it protects your paint and makes it much easier to clean. From watching videos water glides right off your car and it stays nice and shiny. Does anyone have any experiences with ceramic coating and will installing stripes on after be an issue?

I actually did it the other way around - had some vinyl stripes installed on my DIB and a few months later decided to coat it with cquartz UK. When I applied the cquarts I applied it on the stripes as well. I don't know if the coat actually "bonds" to the vinyl, the stripes don't look any different to me before or after.

If you coat your car first I would imagine that vinyl will install just fine, since its supposed to mimick a thin clearcoat. I would wait for someone with experience installing stripes like David at Bigworm to chime in though. Also not all coats are the same.

It does make a huge difference in keeping the car clean. This is somewhat subjective but it repels dirt and water much better than wax. Darker colors like DIB are tough to keep clean but 1.5 months after coating the car looks about as "dirty" as it used to after 2 weeks of traditional wash + wax or sealant.

I know a member named Toplessfun, had ceramic pro installed on his stang. Got the stripes after and they stick fine with no issues.

We have a Mustang in our group having Ceramic Pro first then stripes on top (a couple of months later). No issue so far (the stripes were done a couple of weeks ago, so far they hold just fine)

Thank you guys. I plan on getting the ceramic done before the stripes because I'm getting matte black stripes. Don't want them all shiny.

Did you use special detailing tools to do it yourself? I did some research and it's close to $600 to get it done professionally.

Just read this "Note: If you are planning to get clear bra, stripes or roof wrap, this must be done prior to ceramic pro as this stuff is so slick, that nothing will stick to it." from a ceramic group buy.

Shit. lol
Yep, that is from opensesame (he arranged that group buy), and toplessfun is the guy we both are referring to. Above statement turned out to be false, toplessfun had the stripes installed 3-4 months after the Ceramic Pro application and the stripes hold just fine...
