Anyone have their headers ceramic coated recently? I have a set of Texas Speed headers I am considering to get coated. I have a set of Mac ceramic coated headers on my 96 GT and 20 years later they don’t look to good.

I got mine coated in black by Enigma coatings in Austin. It's held up quite well for over a year now.

we don't typically do it. if your going for every ounce of heat out of the engine bay, it will help a little bit, but we've never really had an issue too be honest with you

I was wanting to do it to keep temps down but I am not patient. So I might just put them on as is.
Thanks for the input.

How much did it run you?
I think it was $200. They also coated my catted lead pipes too. I was down there looking at them just yesterday and the coating is still on there and not flaking off or anything. Quality stuff.

Wow, that sounds like a good deal.

Thanks for the info,

I never was a fan of ceramic coating, but I would highly recommend a good header wrap to disperse the heat!

Wraps are a bad idea if oil ever gets on them. Good way to light your engine on fire. That's why most do coating.

I have had ceramic coating on headers of on old vette which I really liked but on the mustang I have been wondering if the exhaust around the rear end was coated, would help the temperature of the rear end (fluid)..hmmm

I don't understand how one would manage to do such a thing but okay. The header wrap has an oil resistant coating and protects the headers from the elements. Never had issues and they have been proven to reduce temps.

Had my kooks headers coated by a local shop. I dont think its worth that much extra hp but the look and added corrosion resistance is nice
