Centri catch can options

So ill be installing an ESS centri and I'm looking at a new catch can since mine doesn't have a check valve. I got it narrowed down to two and I'm wondering what the extra couple hundred dollars really gets me on the one.

This one is close to the JLT one I have now but with a check valve. This one is $175 with a check valve.

There's also one with a breather or just getting a breather for the oil fill hole. I know some people don't run any catch can so I'm just curious what the different options get you.

Had that UPR on for 8 months with out any issues. Have since switched to vent to atmosphere UPR.

I ran the UPR that you linked to in your original post first and then switched to the vent to atmosphere because you can’t run the one you linked above with a velocity stack turbo guard.

I linked two but I'm guessing you meant the second one. I did read that but I don't plan to run it without the ess intake and filter.

Hahaha sorry had an elderly moment there ! When you mentioned jlt I thought it was a link to a jlt one and didn’t even click on it. Yes I ran the second UPR link you sent. It will get the job done perfectly!!

I guess what I'm asking, is if that one is necessary. Seems like the main thing it does is also work under boost where as the cheaper one only will work with vacuum. Does it need to work under boost? I've had two turbo cars I put simple catch cans on and it worked fine and collected oil. Even the ones ford makes for the ecoboost engines don't work under boost.

Is it necessary? No, I’m sure you can run just a simple catch can system just make sure you have check valves were they are needed. I will say the second UPR system is very nice, works well and comes with all the necessary items for proper use.

On boosted applications I always run a catch can vented to atmosphere. Even the best catch cans can not 100 percent eliminate oil contamination, you'd also have to worry about the check valves under boost. If you're not opposed to an open system then that is the way to go for boost.

On a boosted application, the catch can should only be there to keep from making an oily mess. some people with vent to atmospheric spit a lot or oil out the breather. the catch can should only be there to keep that from happening. you should vent to atmosphere with or without a catch can on a boosted application. no check valve.

I can’t think of any benefits to the catch can other than if your engine spits oil out of the breather.

these cars don't come with any breathers.

the catch can is to keep oil out of the intake and from diluting your fuel quality causing knock
