When I picked up my stang back in early December I noticed an area of damage to the passenger side (left) console panel, as pictured below.

My local dealers service department have just called to say that they have the part, but want the car for 3 days to carry out the work!

Now the sheer notion of this obviously scares me shitless, and I questioned as to why so long, and is it because they don't know how to do it, to which they (honestly) admitted 'yes' and also stated that because the car is under warranty they're obligated at the same time to run a full diagnostic to check that everything else is OK with the car.

I'm sure their intentions are good... but I'm worried about letting their novice Mustang tech 'cut his teeth' on my car... so anyone here have any idea as to whether this is a simple job or does it involve removing half the bloody interior (probably just a case of open the glove box and pull the thing off)?

Mines got a little scrape on it, same place funnily enough, I've never mentioned it. I think the ENTIRE DASH has to come out. But it might be on clips to the midsection (where Sync is), I'd removed my centre tunnel and the kick pads (the two plastic pieces you can see in your picture), and still had no idea how to remove it, as I was going to rewrap that bit myself.

3 days seems a bit steep, but, give that panel a tug, if bits hug at certain points, it maybe clipped in, it could be simply a slide (jam) in and slide out job, but I doubt that lol.

Have a look for videos of changing the sync system/dash etc and see if u can see any clips, or how its fastened in on the inside.

Because I believe they have to take a portion of the dash apart. Plus it's Ford... everything takes forever to get fixed.
